Chapter 18

1 accelerate a little more and when the enormous black gates finally open before us, the bond between us intensifies all at once. The pull in my chest is violent, almost painful. She’s afraid.
I take her hand the moment her eyes lock onto mine and try to smile at her in a reassuring way, but the instant I see the golden reflection of my eyes in the window I understand that it isn’t completely me looking at her now. Zack is too close to the surface and that is not a kind smile. It’s a dangerous one.
“Celine, my wolf is your problem now.” My voice comes out deeper than usual and the small pull in my chest returns again “And believe me when I tell you Zack and I already decided that nobody gets to look at you for too long without him wanting to commit a crime.”
I see the golden reflection of my eyes behind her and feel my wolf pushing hard inside my head. He wants out, wants to sed her covered in our mark and our scent before all those damned nobles lay their eyes on her.
“Zack, behave yourself. Alright?” I slightly frown when I realize she’s not speaking to me, but to him.
“We promise nothing, Celine. It does not depend on us… but on them.”
My wolf’s voice comes out low, cold, and dangerous inside my head.
I slowly squeeze my Luna’s hand and close my eyes for a few seconds while releasing my pheromones inside the vehicle. Not to mark her yet, because I promised I would wait until she was ready, but to completely cover her in my scent and essence. A clear, brutal, territorial warning for any wolf who dares get too close tonight.
She is ours.
“We’ll try. Luna Celine.” I smile at her once more, this time completely myself.
I glance outside. The Gamma warriors are in position, security is a hundred times stricter, and I relax a little when the enormous front doors of the castle finally open for us.
Alaric, my future Beta, is there with a serious yet calm expression. His hands behind his back and the dark suit perfectly fitted to his body.
Celine tenses slightly when she sees him step out and looks around at the entire exterior. The absurdly expensive sports cars, the security surrounding the castle, and the fairy lights decorating the black walls and columns of the fortress and the trees seem like a joke welcoming me, because all that white ends up irritating me.
The entire kingdom is excited about a “peace” that will never exist. I found my other half, but I am not going to stop being who I am.
My warriors step out before I do, forming a double line in front of the castle entrance. Jared, my Luna’s friend, is on the verge of fainting from excitement and can barely stand still beside the others. Celine watches him and smiles faintly.
It’s as if she’s watching a little child inside an amusement park.
Pups.
I open the door and before getting out I look at her, her brown eyes, beautiful and endless.
“Everything is going to be alright, relax. Just don’t look at them too much or lower your head. Alright?”
She nods with a nervous smile and the bond between us tightens slightly again. She is the best. She’s terrified, scared to death, and even so she keeps doing everything possible to please me. Because she’s not doing this for herself. She’s doing it
for me.

The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon
Damned Magnus Thorn. This arrival should have been different.
I walk around the vehicle and open her door, offering my hand to help her out. She’s wearing low heels that give her stability while walking along the gravel path leading to the castle’s main entrance.
She’s beautiful.
Her pale skin, brown eyes, half-pinned blonde hair, and that dark dress delicately fitting her soft curves make the air catch in my lungs for a second. Zack stirs in satisfaction inside my head, pleased by our Moon Goddess’s choice.
She is perfect, even if she still cannot see it.
Celine
My heart pounds hard inside my chest when Bastian offers me his hand to step out of the vehicle. His warriors descend first and form two double lines in front of the castle entrance, decorated with hundreds of thousands of white lights covering absolutely everything. Moon flowers glow softly against the darkness of the enormous black walls and stone columns. We move forward slowly and I make a huge effort not to trip over my heels or step on my dress while I feel the small gravel stones crunch beneath my shoes. The night air is cool and smells of sweet flowers, smoke, and expensive perfume.
A tall man with broad shoulders and a muscular body waits patiently on the last step of the enormous main staircase, watching me closely.
Bastian’s low, deep growl makes each and every warrior lower their heads in submission, except for that man, who simply arches an eyebrow calmly.
“You arrive three hours late and growl at me for looking at our Luna?” He lets out a heavy sigh and completely ignores Bastian to smile at me and extend his hand, which I carefully take. He places a soft kiss against my knuckles before stepping back. “Alaric Victorius, future Royal Beta and best friend of the savage standing beside you. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Luna Celine.”
A small laugh escapes me when Bastian growls again and shoves Alaric in the chest to force him out of the way.
I observe him more closely now that he’s nearer. He looks a lot like Aymara. Same skin tone, same green eyes, and the same pleasant and calm presence.
