The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon (Celine and Bastian) novel Chapter 34

Chapter 34

55 vourners

Despite not wanting to get up and wishing the time beneath the blankets beside Bastian would last a little longer, we eventually leave the bed. He has obligations to attend to and I… well, I do not want to feel useless inside this castle. I have too many things to learn and I still remember perfectly what the doctors said the previous day.

I need to train.

Strengthen my body.

Help my wolf develop.

Something I have never done in my entire life.

That is why, when I walk out of the bathroom after washing up and see Bastian stepping out of the dressing room in training clothes, his hair still damp and that black shirt fitting over his shoulders and arms, it immediately occurs to me that he could help me.

“Dress in something comfortable. Today Alaric and you will train in the training hall.”

The small excitement that had just formed inside me disappears so quickly that I even deflate a little when I hear him.

Because I wanted him to be the one helping me.

“I was going to ask you to train with me.”

I gather my hair with my hands and enter the dressing room to take off my pajamas, but I hear his footsteps following me immediately. When I slightly turn my head I find Bastian leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed and that serious expression so typical of him while he watches me attentively.

“You do not like Alaric?” He asks as if it genuinely surprises him that I would rather train with him.

I frown slightly while opening one of the drawers filled with new clothes that I still have trouble believing belong to me.

“Of course I like him. He is kind to me and not as intimidating as you when you go into terrifying crown prince mode.” I murmur while searching for something comfortable to wear. “But I thought it would be better to train with you because you are my mate.”

Bastian remains completely still for several seconds and when I look at him again I notice something strange in his expression.

Satisfaction.

As if hearing me say that had fed some territorial and possessive part inside him.

Goddess.

Lycans really are dangerously easy creatures to spoil.

“I like training at night, so if you want you can learn from both of us. In the morning you will train with Alaric and at night with me. What do you think? I cannot do it now because I have to train my men.”

“That is fine.”

My voice does not sound pouty or upset, only a little resigned. If he truly cannot do it, I am not going to insist.

“Do you want them to bring something to the room for you? Ask Aymara and she will take care of everything. When I return from the training grounds, I will take you around the castle so you can familiarize yourself with your new home.”

I smile at him before turning around to take off my pajamas and when the clothes fall to the floor I immediately feel Bastian’s eyes on my body. I tense instantly because honestly I thought he had already left to give me privacy

Then I hear his voice behind me, amused and slightly surprised.

“Do not be embarrassed by your body, Celine. I like you, you are beautiful and, as you already know, nudity among wolves is completely normal, so relax.”

My cheeks burn again.

“You have seen me without clothes several times and I have not seen you naked even once.” I joke while trying to ignore how fast my heart is beating as I turn to look directly into his eyes. “It is not fair.”

“And do you want to? Because if that is your wish, I can indulge you.”

His hands slowly lower toward the hem of his shirt and my traitorous gaze drops on its own when a small part of his abdomen is exposed. Goddess.

The arrogant amused smile appearing on Bastian’s face makes me quickly shake my head before he actually takes the shir off.

“Prince Bastian Thorn, do not get too funny. We have not crossed that line yet.”

His smile widens slightly and I get the impression he is enjoying this far more than he should.

I put on loose cotton pants, a high-neck thermal shirt, and a thick sweatshirt. While I finish adjusting my clothes, Bastian walks closer until he stands in front of me and crouches down to grab a pair of combat boots much smaller than his own. I immediately understand that he wants me to try them on.

“Put these on. They will protect your feet from impacts and they will be more comfortable when you have to spend many hours standing. They also have better grip when you train.”

I humor him and sit on the edge of the bed to put them on. To my surprise they are quite comfortable, cushioned and fit me perfectly, although the loose pants ruined the outfit a little.

I frown while looking at myself for a few seconds and end up taking them off again along with the pants. I search through the new clothes until I find a pair of much tighter black lycra leggings and put them on again together with the boots, making sure to tie them properly this time.

When I finish dressing and lift my gaze, Bastian is still standing beside the door watching me in silence. His eyes now look slightly darker than before and he has a glass of water beside a small pill in his hand.

“What is it?” I ask while walking closer to him as he hands me both things.

My mate’s gaze slowly travels over my body from head to toe and he takes too long to answer.

“Nothing.” His voice comes out deeper this time. “I just think I am going to kill Alaric if he sees you wearing those pants.”

“Leave Alaric alone.” I murmur while stepping a little closer. “Besides, I do not understand why you are reacting like this. You just said nudity is something normal and now you are acting like this over a pair of leggings.”

I joke, but then I glance down at myself and the insecurities appear.

I lower my gaze toward my body and tug slightly at the tight black fabric over my legs with some discomfort.

“I am too skinny and I think these things make it too noticeable…” My cheeks begin heating when I awkwardly gesture toward my body. “Well… you know.”
