Chapter 6
15 vouche
I open my eyes abruptly when I hear a vehicle horn, and the first thing I feel is a sharp pain in my back. I must have slept in the same position all night. The sun hits my face, and I close my eyes to avoid the rays of light while curling up beneath the warm blankets.
Warm blankets. Light corning through a window. I was in a tent, on the ground. Not in a soft, warm bed.
Then it hits me. The bonfire, Delta Thomas’s scream, William trying to abuse me, the knife, the blood, the giant black wolf and then…. nothing.
I sit up abruptly and look around. A knot forms in my throat as I recognize the room. I’ve cleaned it my entire life, but now it smells different.
It’s… my father Darius’s room, and Luna Beatriz’s. But why am I here and not in a cell?
Did I kill William? Is that why they brought me back?
I feel my eyes fill with tears because I’m terrified they’ll whip me again.
I look down at my bare arms as the blankets begin slipping from my chest, and I grab them tightly. I look beneath them. and… I’m only wearing underwear.
Who took my clothes off?
I search for my clothes with my eyes, scanning the enormous room. My eyes widen when I notice that, near the bed, in the armchair by the wall, there’s a man sitting with his legs spread apart, his arms stretched over the armrests, completely dressed in black.
But that’s not what surprises me, it’s his size, his face, and the dominant energy radiating from him.
He has dark hair, harsh features, and a scar running across his left eyebrow that makes him look even more dangerous.
His eyes watch me carefully, but there’s no emotion in them.
Then I feel it.
That pull in my chest and the weak reaction from my wolf.
His scent is as intoxicating as it is overwhelming, dangerously delicious.
“Who are you?” I ask, my voice so low that even I can barely hear it.
The man beside the bed doesn’t answer me. He only watches me, and I feel his alpha aura wrapping around me, but not in an aggressive way, rather… different.
“Do you know why I’m in the pack house and in the alpha’s room?”
I don’t know if I’m throwing questions out at the speed of light because I’m afraid they’ll whip me again or because the man simply decides to ignore me. He just stays there, without moving a single muscle, radiating that dominant alpha energy that feels strange because of the warmth I find wrapped within it.
I let out a long sigh and lie back down, covering my body as I remember I’m not wearing anything underneath. But the pull I feel in my chest is identical to the one I felt yesterday when I discovered Tanner was my fated mate and that a bond existed.
“You’re going to reject me, aren’t you? Are they going to punish me?” I speak again, throwing out questions I know he won’t
answer.

1 curl up, trembling, and this time, his face seems to harden. His jaw tightens and his brow furrows deeply. I lower my gaze to the blankets when I remember I’m not supposed to look anyone in the face.
“No.” He responds in a deep voice. “No one is going to hurt you.”
Then he shifts his gaze toward the door and stands to walk toward it when someone knocks softly.
“Cover yourself.” He orders before opening it.
I obey. The tone of his voice is authoritative, and I don’t dare anger him.
A man speaks to him in a low voice, and a second later I hear the door close.
“You can uncover yourself now.”
When I pull my head out from beneath the blankets, he’s standing beside the bed with a tray in his hands.
I only look at him for a second, but then I lower my gaze again.
“Sit down and eat, Celine.” He speaks again, this time without so much harshness in his voice. “And look at me, I’m not going to bite you. We need to talk.”
I swallow slowly and nod before adjusting myself on the bed without letting go of the blankets covering my body. He sets the tray over my legs, and the smell of the hot food makes my stomach tighten painfully. I couldn’t remember the last time someone served me food without throwing it in front of me as if they were feeding an animal.
Bastian sits back down in the armchair across from the bed and watches me silently while I take the glass of water with trembling hands.
I try not to look at him too much, but it’s difficult to ignore someone like him.
He’s enormous.
My father’s room had always seemed large to me, but now it feels small with him inside it.
“Why am I here?” I ask after several seconds of silence.
Bastian folds his hands over his lap and holds my gaze this time.
“Because I brought you here.”
My chest tightens again.
“Why?”
The man barely tilts his head, as if the answer were too obvious.
“Because you are my fated mate chosen by the goddess, Celine.”
My fingers tighten around the glass.
That’s impossible. Tanner was my mate.
The rejection still hurts.
“That’s not possible,” I murmur, lowering my gaze. “I was already rejected.”
“And you accepted the rejection.” he replies calmly. “The bond broke before you were marked. That allowed me to find you.”
The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon
My wolf stirs weakly inside me when I hear him.
Bastian remains silent for a few seconds before speaking again.
