Wilder reached the door of Bar’s bookstore at the exact

moment his brother did. “You felt it too?”

Rafferty made a face, “I need to be really clear here, I do not

want to have sex with that man myself. I mean it. I am not

looking for Bar or his damn beast to bend me over anything,” he grimaced, “but emotionally I am as connected to him as I am with Jacqueline. There is a part of me,” he appeared embarrassed by what he was about to say as his voice dropped to the barest hint of a whisper as he regarded his twin, “who wants to cuddle him and tell him everything will be alright. What the hell is that all about?”

her. “You showed up when he was in a session with the psychologist. Considering you’d texted him eight times to ask for money while he was in group therapy and then showed up unannounced during his private session, he presumed it wasn’t urgent but rather you wanted spending money for 2/12

“Clyde had no business doing such a thing,” Nancy lifted her chin, “and I am Wraith’s mother. We surrounded him with family and made sure he not only looked like he was healthily involved with normal behavior, but we actually are making him feel loved and supported like a family does.”

way I’m going to spin the story to the press unless you give

me a million dollars.”

“A million dollars?” Wilder frowned at her in disbelief.

“It will tide me over until my divorce is finalized. I finally

got the evidence of his cheating ass, and it nullifies the prenuptial agreement. I have him dead to rights and I’m getting half of his shit but he’s going to drag it out in court. It’ll be at least six months to a year. A million will get me through. Wraith is refusing to bankroll anything other than

a few grand a month for my living expenses. He made ten million last year in endorsements and he has full scholarship. He doesn’t need the money, but he won’t share it. He keeps telling me his money is tied up in investments.”

“It is,” Wilder laughed in her face. “The boy might think with his dick most of the time, but he inherited his father’s tight–fisted habits with money and every penny he earns 5/12

“I’m calling Clyde and I’ll tell him how you’re controlling Wraith and his assets. He might hate me, but he loves the money and the fame Wraith brings him. He’ll not like that

you’re the one controlling Wraith now.”

“Nancy, you need to go take a walk and really think about your next steps. Call Clyde. We don’t care. He hates you and he’d probably shank his own kid if it meant it would hurt you.” Wilder said bluntly. “He actually refused to help Wraith with this situation at all, or did you forget?”

Bar and Jacqueline came from the rear of the store and Bar frowned, “why are you closing my shop?”

“It’s temporary until Wraith’s mother fucks off,” Wilder grunted as he turned to look at his mates. He immediately walked to Bar and put his hand on his shoulder, “you are in

pain. Why?”

“It is his brother.” Rafferty said bluntly as he awkwardly

shifted his body as if needing to touch Bar but was unsure

of how to initiate the contact. “Bjorn’s arrival is causing him pain. It is bringing unwelcome memories forward and then there is the whole bullshit of his jealousy.”

Bar lifted his arm up and motioned for Rafferty to come closer, “I need my mates touch. Please.”

Wraith and he shut her down. She threatened to expose his relationship with River and say we are using our sister’s pussy to manipulate and control Wraith unless I gave her a

Rafferty spoke up, “they will be here in roughly one hour

and I can see when they arrive, your brother is already complaining of the town. If it makes anyone happy, he’s going to step in horse shit with his pretty shoes. Right near the feed store.”

“Oh, I need to see that happen,” Bar looked to Rafferty with a wide smile. “You are sure?”

“A hundred percent sure.”

“Well, come on now. I have the perfect book to read to my mates to distract us from the upcoming bear fight.”

“What just happened?” Wilder asked Rafferty in confusion.

“He kissed us.” Rafferty whispered back. “I liked it.”

“Things are about to get a whole lot weirder,” Wilder moved

then to join his mates on the sofa, his heart beating fast and his smile growing faster.
