I got into arguments with every teacher and student in school because most of them were stupid and wrong.” She paused and then grinned as she thought of something Jack said, “hey, he said all royal kids are assholes. I was an asshole because I’m a royal kid.” She nodded her head appreciatively. “I was genetically predisposed to being a twat. Interesting.”

Jacqueline made a harrumphing noise and folded her arms. “Anyway, I was saying, I’m a woman who has worked hard all her life to get what she wants and needs. I worked hard to get where I am. Deciding to take a leap of faith and trust that all of this truly was real, she closed her eyes while they were protesting and envisioned the elevator at the end of the hall.
