Somewhere, somehow, while sitting outside in the crisp air with her two mates talking softly and encouraging her to relax, Jacqueline fell asleep.
Now, in the early dawn of the morning, she was aware of three things.

The first. She’d had the best sleep of her life, no exceptions.
The second. She was not alone and based on the quiet, heavy breathing of the other occupant in the room, they too were having a great sleep.
The third thing. Someone had not only put her to bed, but they’d put her into her pajamas before doing so.
She rolled to her side and in the dim light filtering through the crack in the curtains, she could make out the side profile of Wilder as he slept. Flat on his back, his arm set angularly qver

Smiling she brushed her hair off her face and inched closer to the edge of her bed and watched him sleeping. He was a gorgeous man with thick lashes and pouty lips and even in sleep, he seemed strong and masculine.
Jacqueline lost track of how long she lay there watching him and then he rolled to his side, facing her and opened his
eyes. He focused on her, a moment of confusion and then
clarity and a smile tugged at his lips.
“Good morning, mate.”
“Good morning, Wilder.” Her voice was raspy and she felt a smidge of embarrassment at being caught staring.
“You were watching me.” His voice carried a hint of pride.
“Yes.” She admitted forcing herself not to hide her face in her
pillow.
“Tit for tat I suppose” he stretched his arms over his head. “Rafferty and I sat on either side of you for hours last night just watching you sleep. It was hard for us to go to bed on
our own.”

“You did not.”
“We did.”

“Who changed my clothing?”
“We did, together but we were very conscientious of your privacy and modesty. I was very impressed with my brother’s
ability to remove your bra after your pajama top was on,
through the sleeves of the shirt. We, however, left your
underwear on under your bottoms. Neither of us could figure
out a way to get them off without exposing you before you
were ready.”
“You’ve seen it before.” She thought of the day in the
conference room.
“We didn’t have your permission,” he shook his head as he rolled his pillow up and tucked it under his head. “Rafferty struggled to leave you. He was ready to sleep at the foot of your bed like a dog.”
She giggled at the words, “he’s far too large a man to curl up at my feet.”

“Yet he would have with gratitude in his heart for the opportunity.” Wilder smiled. “You were content when we put you to bed. It was the first time since we’ve met where you didn’t seem to be on edge with us. We relished the moment.”
“I’m getting used to you.” She admitted as she tucked her hand under her cheek, snuggling into the blankets.
“That is very good to hear.” Wilder reached for his phone on his nightstand. “I bet he’s already awake desperate to come see you. May I let him know you’re up?”
“Yes.” Her eyes darted to the bathroom door.
“Go. Your toothbrush and everything you need is in there. We may want a cuddle though before you leave us for the day.” When she frowned he reminded her, “you’re supposed to meet your parents for breakfast. I imagine they’ll be stalking the hotel restaurant waiting for you.”
She made a face and rolled onto her back and huffed loudly,
“why did I agree?”
“Because there is a part of you which still longs for them to be the parents you dreamed of as a child. You’re not one to give up on anything, Jacqueline. You’ll be sad if you haven’t 4/6

“Will I though?” she turned her head to look at him, “will I really?”
“Yes, you will.” He chuckled at her defiance. “You want to talk tough like you don’t need or want anyone in your life but as your mate, I am tuned into your emotions. The more you let your barriers down, the more Rafferty and I will feel the energy you’re giving off.”
“Well, that sounds invasive.” She sighed sitting up in bed.
“You will find it’s not so much invasive as it is comforting,” Wilder said as he swung his feet to the floor.
The way he stretched had his pajama top rising high on his belly revealing a perfect patch of muscular abdomen and she was transfixed in place at the sight. Then her eyes lowered to where the dark trail of hair disappeared and it was very obvious that Wilder Vaughn was a morning kind of guy. Her gaze averted and her cheeks felt hot.
“You’re allowed to look, Jacqueline.” The humor lacing his tone made her blush even harder. “Rafferty is likely going to want to snuggle and in case you missed it, we’re nearly 5/6

doubles of each other. If you want to know what he looks like,” he lifted his shirt up to chin with a wicked grin on his face.
A knock on the door made her squeal and she jumped out of the bed and slammed into the bathroom, Wilder’s laughter chasing her.
She leaned against the closed door, a big smile on her face and her heart racing.
This might be the best way to wake up ever.
