The accusation from Rafferty had her glowering at him.

“I would like to point out what happened with Wilder was fifty years ago. I literally found out within the last couple of weeks my sister is a raging psychopath who kidnapped me as a still wet infant and left me with nothing but a blanket and a name tag in the entrance of a hospital. You’ve had fifty years to get over it. Ask me in fifty years if I’m still angry with her and then

judge.”

“She’s got you there,” Wilder snickered. He looked at Rafferty, “I forgive you brother.”

“You forgive me?” Rafferty’s eyebrows were hitched high in

his forehead.

“For ghosting me.”

Jacqueline bit the insides of her cheeks struggling not to

laugh aloud at the raging incredulity on Rafferty’s face at

Wilder’s insufferable behavior.

Bar was not doing as well as Jacqueline in hiding his

amusement as his chest rocked with laughter he barely

controlled.

“I might need something stronger than the beer in Bar’s fridge,” Rafferty grimaced at his brother who was smirking

cockily.

“Aw come on Raff,” Wilder held his arms out as if asking for

a hug. “Admit it. You miss me. You miss as much as I miss

you. It’s why deep down, secretly, you’re thrilled to share

Jacqueline with me. It means we’re together again.” He waved his arms, “come on brother, bring it in.”

Jaqueline shook her head at the audacity but the playfulness in Wilder’s antics were making her struggle not to giggle.

“I do not want to hug you.”

“He didn’t say he didn’t miss me though,” Wilder winked at Jacqueline.

“Well of course I missed my twin, you asshat, but I didn’t miss being pulled into your tomfoolery.”

Bar looked at Rafferty, “I would take that offer. Hell, if you

don’t want to do it, can I do it for you? I’ve been to a few

parties back in the day where his arrogance made me want to knock him down a peg. Knowing I have to be hitched to his wagon for the rest of our lives, I’d be thrilled for a free

punch.”

“Get up,” Rafferty looked at Wilder with a gleam in his eye.

“Oh, we’re really going to do this?”

“Take it outside,” Jacqueline spat suddenly. “If you’re throwing punches, take it outside. I had enough brothers in group homes and foster homes to know it’s never one punch and

things get broken. I’m not letting you break Bar’s furniture.”

“You could take her,” Bar said. “I pinned her with a single

Jacqueline watched as Rafferty flung the door open and

waved at Wilder to get off the floor and follow him outside, as Bar’s words caught up to her. “Well yeah I could take her. She might be taller than me but she’s weak and cowardly. Scared of a baby taking her place.” She got off the sofa and

followed the twins outside with Bar hot on her heels.

Wilder was unbuttoning his shirt.

“What are you doing?” Rafferty lifted an eyebrow at him.

“This is one of my favorite shirts. I’m not letting you spill my

blood on it.”

“You think he’s going to spill blood?” Jacqueline asked as her

eyes focused on the tattooed torso coming into view.

“Good call,” Rafferty simply ripped his shirt over his head and tossed it aside. “Can’t have your blood spurting all over my clothing.”

Her eyes raked over their exposed flesh, and she jumped when Bar leaned over her shoulder and whispered in her ear.

“And here I was worried they’d be sexier than me without their clothing but nope, I’m hotter.”

She giggled at his words, “I’ll be the judge of that.”

“Anytime, mate.” He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her backwards against his chest. “This might be the best day of my life. I get my arms around my mate, and I get to watch these two idiots punch each other’s lights out.” He inhaled deeply as he nuzzled the side of her head, “and you smell so good.”

She rubbed her thighs together knowing exactly what he

meant.

The primal beastly behavior of all three of her mates were doing crazy things to her libido and she leaned into Bar’s embrace and watched as the brothers circled each other.

The last fucking thing I wanted was for my mate to see me being caught up in your insanity. Do you really think you were the only one obsessed with finding out why they didn’t have their mate yet? Do you know how many

times I wondered if it was someone who refused to even look

in my direction? I kept thinking it was probably one of those

girls who refused to come to a gala or a party because she didn’t want to find out she was stuck with a god damned

Vaughn twin! I thought you were costing me my mate!”

Wilder stopped moving at the accusation and then stumbled backwards when Rafferty’s fist connected with his face in a 6/12

a fool because you were lonely and missing the mate you’d

consider I was pulling away because you’re so self–absorbed

and narcissistic that you couldn’t think of me and only of your own feelings.” Rafferty threw a second punch this time catching Wilder in the abdomen making him double over.

“Is it just me or is this wildly sexy?” Jacqueline tilted her head to look at Bar who grinned down at her.

“It’s just you but you finding it sexy is sexy to me. I might want to have you for dinner instead of the venison I have on.”

I mean I knew you were miserable too, but I presumed you would want to deal with it the same way I did and when you didn’t I made things a hundred times worse. I’m not surprised you walked away.” He reached out and rested his hand on his brother’s heaving chest, “I love you. You’re my brother and my best friend and I should have been there for you instead of being such a twat. Forgive me?”

“I forgive you. I should have talked to you instead of

expecting you to read my mind.” He turned his head and

looked at his brother and offered a cheeky grin, “and I know you already forgave me.”

“When did it start snowing?” Wilder asked suddenly, his brows knitted in confusion.

“Uh no,” Wilder was immediately on his knees.

“My mate,” Bar asked boldly, “have they already tasted you?”

“Yes but no sex. I’m not ready and they’ve respected my need for boundaries.”

check, aren’t you?” Wilder was also on his feet now. “Is he going to give us trouble?”

“Why would he not be able to contain his beast?” Jacqueline looked to Bar and noted a rapid flicker in his eyes. Her own eyes widened in surprise, “your bear wants to come out.”

“His bear wants to pin you face down in the snow and fuck you,” Wilder commented. “That might be weird to watch.”

“It couldn’t happen,” Bar reassured her. “He’s made to mate with bears not broads.” He shot an apologetic grimace at Jacqueline, “that was rude. I’m sorry.”

to rip Jacqueline out of Bar’s arms.

“Rafferty, Bar needs to put up with us. We need to put up with him and his beast. Besides,” he nodded to Jacqueline, “look at her. Look at how comfortable and safe she feels right there, even with his furry paws all over her. I didn’t just get

my ass kicked to suddenly forget that I’m supposed to be trying to think of other people but myself in my relationships. We’re going to need to find a way to navigate this situation.

I want her to love me, Rafferty and if loving me means she needs to love him too, then I’m going to support her.” He then mock whispered, “also pretty sure his dick is twice the size of mine. I’m going to have to win her over with love and support because he’s literally going to be a beast in her bed.”
