Chapter 37: Chapter 37

When Tyler got down on his knee in front of everyone I gasped and I was the only one. Which means that this was a surprise that I didn’t see coming. They really had me fooled there.

"Tessa. I knew that you knew all about the party. You’ve been expecting it all day. That was the only way to get past you on this surprise. Ever since I met you, I knew that you were the one that I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I promise that I will make you happy for the rest of your life. No matter what happens we will be there together and we will fight anything that comes at us together. You are my one and only and you always will be. I love you more than life itself. I will be by your side forever. Will you do me the huge honor of being my wife?" He promised to me with all of his heart. My heart was definitely speeding up and I knew that everyone could hear it. But I didn’t care. He opened the ring box to show a white gold wolf’s head ring in it and a large princess cut diamond ring in the wolf’s mouth. I had to hold back a couple of the sniffles while I was looking at him and Bella was giggling behind me.

"Yes." I finally answered. And Tyler let out the breath that he had obviously been holding and he took the ring out of the box and slipped it on my finger. Then he stood up and kissed me and lifted me off my feet and straightened up while he kissed me and everyone else cheered.

When he finally let me down the girls wanted to see the ring and they were all gob smacked.

"How long have you been planning this? You would have had to have that thing made." Aria says.

"I’ve been planning for a while." Tyler says.

"You dick. You couldn’t even tell me? You’re own cousin." She says. And I laugh at Aria.

"You would have told her for sure." Tyler says.

"Would you two shut up. You are ruining the best birthday I have ever had." I say.

"Well, I have to say something." Elias says standing up. " I only met Tessa a few days ago and fell in love with her straight away. And I wasn’t sure about Tyler because he’s a wolf and we all know how vampire and wolves are together. But I have to say, that he won me over pretty quickly. Seeing how protective he is of our niece. I know that Tessa couldn’t be in better hands than Tyler." Elias says.

"Oh my god. I just realized. We’re gonna have to have the wedding at nighttime." I say.

"Oh shit. It will be. You guys have to let us know where you are at all times so we know where to send the invitations." Tyler tells my aunt’s and uncle’s.

"Definitely. we wouldn’t miss it for anything." Ruby says.

"Can we bring dates?" Naomi asked.

"Just as long as they don’t try to eat the guests." Wyatt joked with her. And we laughed at him.

"I promise they will be on their best behavior." She says.

"So, I’m guessing that’s who you’ve been on the phone to all the time." I say.

"Maybe." She says.

"Why isn’t he here too?" I asked.

"Because I told him that it was a family matter. And he hates Angelo." She says.

"Gotcha." I say completely understanding.

"I’m going to really start taking offense to those remarks." Angelo says.

"Good. You’re supposed to." Naomi says. And I noticed that Angelo hadn’t come over to me yet. So I walked over to where he was away from the crowd.

"Well, everyone else said congratulations." I say. But he looked down at his shoes.

"I do like Tyler. And I know that he will never let anything happen to you. Even though you will probably be the one protecting him most of the time." Angelo scoffs.

"He’s not stealing me away. You’re welcome at our pack whenever you want. And if you want to see us, then call and tell us where you are at the time and we’ll come and see you. If it’s the right time. If people are attacking our pack then no, we won’t be able to make it then. But otherwise, we will be there. The only thing that will stop us is if people are trying to kill us." I explain and he looked up and smiled. Tyler was standing back where he was but with vampire and werewolf hearing, I knew that everyone could hear us.

"I am happy for you. Really happy." He says.

"You know, you are my father. So you have to be at the wedding. Because I don’t have anyone else to give me away." I say. And the smile got even larger on his face.

"I can definitely do that. I will be there." He says hugging me. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

’That was really good of you. Especially after what he did.’ Tyler mind linked me.

’He is my father.’ I replied.

"Come on. Let’s get into the party spirit." I say loudly and everyone else cheered and agreed totally.

So the band started up again and we cracked open a few bottles of champagne and started toasting each other and everyone toasted Tyler and myself on the engagement.

After a couple glasses of champagne Tyler grabbed me by the hand and dragged me to the middle of the courtyard and started spinning me around the little dancefloor that we just created. And I saw Bella off to the side taking photos.

"It’s never too early to start a book. And these photos are beautiful." She says.

"She’s gonna take some getting used to." Tyler says.

"Well, she’s your Beta’s mate. So, you’re gonna have to get used to it." I say.

"She was quieter when we left." He scoffed.

"She’s coming out of her shell. Which is a good thing. She can be a lot of fun." I say.
