TYLER POV
"We will stay and help. I have a feeling that we’re the ones that bought this to you. We’ll stay until the next attack. You say that they are becoming more frequent." I say.
"Yeah. It was every three days and then two days so the next attack should be tonight. But we don’t know what side of the boarder that they will attack from. They change that up all the time." Ryan says.
"Okay. We’ll sort it out. We’ll help and tell your men to try and take one alive. We need to question him." I say.
"No worries." Ryan says.
When we left his office we were shown to our rooms and I sat on the bed and pulled out my phone to call Tessa.
"Hello." She answered.
"Hi baby. How are you and bub going?" I asked.
"You’ve been gone for a couple of hours. We’re fine." She says sounding frustrated. And I tried not to laugh but Eli was laughing in my head. He thought it was funny how she was getting so frustrated with us fussing all over her.
"I am calling to let you know that we’re staying the night. Maybe a couple of nights. It depends on when the next attack happens." I explain.
"Alright. How bad is it?" She asked.
"Well, no one has been killed which I think it weird. The rogues aren’t killing these men. Just hurting them. That’s what I don’t understand. We have advanced healing powers. More advanced than rogues. We heal quicker than them because we belong to a pack and we’re stronger for it." I explained.
"That is weird. Have any rogues been killed?" She asked.
"Yeah. A couple." I say.
"Well, they would want vengeance for their family or friend that just died. Why aren’t they killing back?" She asked.
"Exactly. Hopefully we’ll find out tonight. If they attack tonight then we’re gonna try and get one alive. Question him. Torture him. Whatever it takes." Tyler says.
"Alright. And then hurry up and get back here because I want to go baby shopping. There’s furniture that we need for the nursery." She says and I could hear the smirk in her voice.
"You better not have painted that nursery without me." I snapped standing up.
"Me? Never." She said in mock shock.
"You know that we didn’t decide on a color." I say.
"Oh. I thought we did. Or maybe we just did in my head. Or it was me and Shiloh. Or me and Bella. I don’t know. Too many people are talking to me about babies right now. I’m getting confused." She whimpers trying to sound all innocent.
"Don’t play that innocent act with me. It doesn’t work on me." I say.
"Yes it does." She retorted.
"I have to go. The sun is setting. You better hope that room is not painted when I get home." I threatened.
"And what are you going to do to your pregnant wife if it is painted when you get home? Absolutely nothing. See ya." She said laughing and hung up quickly.
"Ooh that women is going to be the death of me." I growl to myself.
TESSA POV
As soon as I hung up the phone Bella and Aria started laughing their asses off.
"Does he think that you actually painted the nursery without him?" Bella asked.
"Yep." I say laughing.
"Oh my god. He’s going to kill you when he gets home." Aria says.
"No he won’t. He’ll just be relieved that it’s not painted." I say getting up and going to the kitchen.
I started rummaging through the fridge and cupboard looking for something to eat for dinner.
"You shouldn’t be doing that." Aria says.
"Oh my god. I can still see my feet so I can still cook dinner. My belly isn’t getting in the way of anything." I say frustrated.
"Sorry. I know that sounded like Tyler." She says.
"Yeah. Just a little." I say. And I started prepping the vegetables and then putting everything on to cook.
There weren’t too many people around the packhouse anymore. Only the Alpha, Beta and Gamma. So I only had to cook for four people tonight. Not six. And I enjoyed cooking. It was relaxing. And everyone knows that I needed to keep busy.
When I finally finished dinner I called out to Carter and he came to the dining room and we ate dinner together.
