The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 239

Chapter Two Hundred Thirty Nine

“Let?”

Talon froze. He immediately realized his mistake. Diana slowly pulled her hands away.

“Did you just say you would not let me leave?”

“Diana-”

“As though I need your permission?”

“That is not what I meant.”

“Then what did you mean?”

Talon sighed. Diana straightened as much as her heavily pregnant body allowed.

“I am not your possession, Talon. I am your mate and your Luna. I am perfectly capable of making decisions for myself.”

“I know that.”

“Do you?”

“Yes.”

“Because you are speaking as though you have the authority to decide whether I am allowed

to leave the Pack House.”

Talon closed his eyes briefly. Fenrir groaned inside their shared mind.

“You used the wrong word. Our mate is angry.”

“Thank you for pointing that out.”

Fenrir huffed.

“Apologize.”

Talon opened his eyes.

“Diana, I am sorry. I did not mean that you need my permission to go anywhere.”

Diana remained silent.

“You are my Luna,” he continued. “My one and only Luna. You are my mate, and I would protect you with my life. Fenrir would do the same.”

His voice softened.

“But you are also carrying our pups.”

Diana looked down at her stomach. Talon gently placed his hand over it. One of the twins moved beneath his palm. He smiled faintly before looking back at her.

“I cannot forget what happened during the war. I cannot forget seeing you lying on the battlefield.”

Diana’s expression softened.

“I know.”

“And now you want to travel outside our territory to meet the same witch who attacked you.”

“Talon-”

“How can you ask me to be comfortable with that?”

Diana reached up and gently touched his face. He immediately leaned into her palm.

“She did not hurt me on purpose,” Diana said softly.

Talon’s jaw tightened.

“We have already discussed what happened that day. I told you why I asked her to attack me."

“I know.”

“She did not betray me.”

“I know what you told me.”

“Then please stop thinking of her as someone who deliberately tried to hurt me.”

Talon remained silent. Diana gently brushed her thumb across his cheek.

“She helped save our pups, Talon. She protected me when I was too weak to fight at my full strength. And when she had the opportunity to save her own family, I helped her.”

Talon looked away briefly. Diana waited until his eyes returned to hers.

“I need to know what she wants to tell me.”

“Why?”

“Because she said it is important.”

“That could mean anything.”

“Exactly. Which is why I need to speak with her.”

Talon sighed.

“Diana, what if something goes wrong?”

“Then we will deal with it.”

“What if you go into labor while we are away?”

Diana smiled slightly.

“Then I suppose you will have to help me deliver our pups.”

Talon stared at her in horror.

“Diana.”

She laughed.

“I am joking.”

“That is not something you should joke about.”

“I am not planning to do anything reckless. I am not going to sneak out of Black Howler or travel alone.”
