Chapter 115
“I won’t…”
Jonah gripped her shoulders with both hands. “She’s already had the surgery. As long as there are no complications, she won’t need anyone else!”
So, the moment there’s a complication, you’ll come looking for me again?
Vivian gave a cynical twitch of her lips and silently pried his fingers off her.
She turned to leave, but the man’s strong arm blocked her path. His dark voice sounded as though it clawed its way out of hell. “Vivian, don’t push me.”
“You…”
Before Vivian could finish, her gaze drifted upward.
Standing right behind Jonah was another tall figure, appearing as if out of thin air. His commanding, icy presence instantly sucked the air from the room.
Silas spoke, his tone completely flat. “I’d like to know how exactly she’s pushing you, Mr. Granger.”
Vivian looked into his eyes, thinking they looked just like polished obsidian, glinting brilliantly
in the dark.
She seized the moment to shove Jonah’s arm away and jogged over.
She tucked herself behind Silas.
“I didn’t seek him out. He dragged me in here.” Poking her head out, she addressed Silas directly, framing it as both an explanation and a complaint. “You heard him, right? He wouldn’t let me leave.”
Jonah’s eyelid twitched violently, a suffocating tightness seizing his chest.
Silas lowered his gaze. Through the blur, he could only make out a dark silhouette.
He ignored her and looked straight ahead at the man opposite them, his eyes sharp and predatory. “It would be best if Mr. Granger stopped harassing my people to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings.”
He grabbed the woman’s hand and turned.
Jonah’s eyes dropped to their intertwined hands, his gaze plunging into freezing temperatures.
“And what if I insist?” he challenged darkly.

”
“Oh?”
A single syllable slipped from Silas’s lips, dripping with mockery, disdain, and cold
amusement. “Then by all means, Mr. Granger. Try me.”
He dragged Vivian away with long strides.
Vivian was practically being hauled along. She looked up at him; the man’s face was flawlessly handsome, looking perfectly striking from every angle. In the dim hallway, he looked almost ethereal, making her heart skip a beat.
Walking to the elevators, they found Simon waiting there.
“Checkup finished?”
No one answered him.
Simon shot Vivian a look that practically screamed to fend for herself, and turned back to press the elevator button.
Thinking back to the explosive showdown just moments ago, Vivian couldn’t help but lick her lips. She gave the arm holding hers a gentle shake and whispered, “I just went downstairs to use the restroom. I had no idea I’d run into him.”
The man remained silent.
They headed downstairs and got into the car.
The suffocatingly low air pressure in the vehicle made Simon shiver. He just wanted to get this couple back home as quickly as possible. Marital disputes were best solved behind closed doors.
