Chapter 123
She hadn’t noticed.
At that exact moment.
The man upstairs, who had seemingly been looking elsewhere, shifted his dark, fathomless gaze back to her.
Vivian sat outside for a little longer before heading upstairs.
Staying at the manor definitely had its perks.
Namely, she didn’t have to rack her brain figuring out how to sneak into Silas’s bed. Grandpa had very conveniently prepared only one room.
Pushing the door open, she heard the sound of running water from the bathroom.
He was taking a shower.
Vivian’s lips curved into a smile as she took in the room.
It was Silas’s childhood bedroom. There were still posters of soccer stars on the walls, and a massive display cabinet was packed to the brim with action figures, mostly from Marvel.
Who would have guessed that this icy executive once harbored a superhero dream?
Vivian smirked, her attention drifting to the nearby desk.
A neat row of photo albums sat perfectly aligned.
Without a second of hesitation, she reached out and flipped one open.
Young Silas had round cheeks and large, expressive eyes. He was undeniably cute, yet the sharp, handsome contours of his future face were already visible. Vivian muttered under her breath, “He actually looked sweet back then. Not like now…”
Now, he was just infuriating every time he opened his mouth.
She chuckled to herself.
Flipping further back, she finally saw pictures of his parents.
The woman in the photos radiated wealth and elegance, draped in custom couture and dripping in diamonds, her face beautiful but stoic.
The man stood at a polite distance from her. They didn’t look like husband and wife; they looked like corporate partners.
He was tall, imposing, and undeniably handsome.
But their expressions were identical-not a single smile between them.

Chapter 123
Directly beneath that photo was a group shot, likely taken during a social gathering of their generation. Vivian’s gaze locked onto one specific couple in the crowd. It was her… parents.
She was just about to slide the photo out of its sleeve when a voice startled her from behind.
“Touching my things without permission is bad enough. Now you’re trying to steal?”
Vivian spun around. The man was standing right there, clad only in a low-slung towel.
His hair was still damp. Drops of water slid down from the ends, tracing a path down his strong neck, over the hard planes of his chest, slipping lower and lower.
They pooled at his deep V-lines before vanishing beneath the white terry cloth.
Vivian instinctively swallowed hard and forced herself to look away.
“I… was just looking around.”
“Looking at what?”
When she looked back up, his eyes were actually focused slightly to the left of her. Vivian suddenly remembered he was blind. He had just been… bluffing!
She gritted her teeth and slammed the photo album back into place with unnecessary force.
“I was looking at your baby pictures. Is that a crime?”
Silas’s dark eyes shifted, locking onto her face. “You can look, but I highly doubt you can afford the price of admission, Ms. Fairchild.”
”
Couldn’t afford it?
