The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 128

Chapter 128

Her slender fingers still hovered in the air, slowly tracing the contours of his face as if she were committing a beloved masterpiece to memory.

A sudden, scorching heat flared in Silas’s chest, vanishing just as quickly as it appeared.

Two seconds later.

Vivian dropped her hand. Teasing a blind man was starting to lose its thrill, but what else was she supposed to do? It was a rare opportunity to be in bed together. She couldn’t just waste the whole morning. Maybe…

She licked her flushed lips and decisively made her move.

A sharp intake of breath.

The deep, husky groan that escaped the man’s lips was impossibly sexy. Vivian leaned in and whispered against his ear, “Does that feel good?”

Silas seized her wandering hand in a vice grip, his dark eyes practically spitting fire. “Do you physically ache if you don’t act like a complete menace for one day?”

“Yes.”

She admitted it without a shred of shame.

“I want to sleep with you. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Why shouldn’t I be proud of

it?”

Silas’s eyelid twitched violently. He had a very strong premonition that if he stayed in this room a second longer, he might actually strangle her.

He shoved her away and stood up.

The sun was fully risen now.

With him gone, the sofa felt incredibly spacious. Vivian propped herself up on one arm, admiring the view of his retreating back. Broad shoulders, a narrow waist-an absolute knockout of a man.

She drawled slowly, “Silas.”

He didn’t break his stride, completely ignoring her.

Just as he was about to step into the bathroom, Vivian added lazily, “Do you remember our

first night? You barely lasted three minutes. All that muscle for absolutely nothing?”

That single sentence brought him to a dead halt.

A moment later.

He spun around, his face resembling a thundercloud. He marched back over, scooped her up effortlessly in his arms, and strode out the door.

Straight into the guest bedroom.

He tossed her.

Vivian sank deep into the plush mattress and bounced back up.

By the time she scrambled to her feet, the man was already long gone.

She was panting, but a massive grin spread across her face. Pushing Silas’s buttons was entirely too much fun.

By seven-thirty, when Vivian finally came downstairs fully dressed, Silas had already left for the day.

George Caldwell had breakfast waiting on the table. He bowed slightly. “Eat while it’s hot, Mrs. Sterling.”

“Thank you, George. Where’s Grandpa?”

“He’s out for his morning walk. He should be back in about ten minutes.”

George beamed warmly, offering information before she even had to ask. “Mr. Sterling has already left for the office. If you need it, I can have a driver take you to work. Grandpa and Mr. Sterling expect you both back here for dinner tonight.”

Wow.

Did that mean she got to share his bed again tonight?

Vivian offered a polite smile. “George, is there a spare car available?”

“Yes, of course.”

“I’ll just drive myself. Thank you.”

According to George’s estimate, Grandpa wasn’t due back just yet, but knowing Vivian was still home, the old man returned early.
