Chapter 145
With the sudden switch to the boss’s wife’s voice, Simon had no idea how to respond But looking at Grace’s deeply flushed face… he actually thought Vivian made a good point
“Silas…”
Grace slumped against the sofa, her hair obscuring half her face.
Her seemingly unconscious murmurs were just loud enough to carry perfectly through the
receiver.
Vivian sneakily peeked at the man’s expression. He didn’t look visibly shaken, but that tightly/ furrowed brow… *Tsk*, he must be absolutely heartbroken.
Just as she was about to say something, Simon’s panicked shout suddenly erupted from the phone-
“Grace!”
“Mr. Sterling… Grace just passed out!”
Silas snatched the phone back, his voice low. “Get her to the hospital.”
Ending the call, he turned on his heel to leave. After two strides, he doubled back, grabbing the woman’s wrist. “You’re coming with me.”
“What? Why do I need to go?”
“Didn’t you want to enjoy the show?”
There was really no need to be so blunt about it.
She changed her clothes, headed out, and got into the car.
Vivian finally understood why this man had insisted on dragging her along. Having a built-in chauffeur was much more convenient than hailing a cab.
By the time they reached the hospital, Grace had already finished her basic examinations.
“Acute stomach bleeding. The doctor said it was caused by excessive alcohol consumption…”
As Simon spoke, he couldn’t help but cast an admiring glance at Vivian. The boss’s wife was a genius; she had nailed it on the first guess.
Barely two sentences later, the doctor stepped out of the ward, pulling down his mask. “The patient is awake now. Family members can go in and visit. Just make sure she sticks to a bland diet for the next few days.”

Chapter 145
Simon thanked him and turned around hesitantly.
“Mr. Sterling, are you… going in?”
The man shot him a cold look and pushed open the door to the ward.
The moment Grace saw Silas, her eyes lit up brilliantly. But as the woman standing behind him came into view, the radiant spark on her face died instantly, replaced by a devastating, helpless gloom.
Vivian’s lips curled up in an amused, utterly brilliant smile.
Grace certainly hadn’t expected Silas to bring her along. Truth be told, even Vivian hadn’t expected it.
A man’s heart was truly an unfathomable ocean.
Who knew what on earth he was thinking.
Silas’s expression was unreadable-heavy and unpredictable. Staring down at the woman in the hospital bed, he spoke with an icy edge, “Do you enjoy drinking that much?”
Grace fluttered her eyelids before lowering them again, her pale little face a picture of fragile pity. “Silas… I just couldn’t wrap my head around it.”
There were too many things she couldn’t understand.
This man had chased after her for ten solid years. Just because of one failed confession, his feelings vanished into thin air?
How many days had he even known this woman named Vivian?
