The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 155

Chapter 155

In another private room, Silas sat casually in the innermost seat, his long legs stretched out comfortably. He had ditched the tie, and the top two buttons of his dress shirt were undone, exposing a glimpse of his collarbone. He looked languid, exuding a silent but magnetic masculine charm.

Logan Lawson personally poured him a cup of tea, a teasing smirk on his face.

“You’re a busy man, Mr. Sterling. It takes countless invitations just to get you in a room. Trying to lock down a partnership with the Sterling Family is no walk in the park.”

Silas unhurriedly picked up his cup and took a sip. “Cut to the chase, Logan.”

Though they rarely crossed paths, their social circle dictated that they didn’t need much interaction to understand one another.

Sometimes, mutual respect was formed in just two sentences.

“Then I’ll be blunt.”

Logan raised a hand. His assistant immediately handed him a file, which he placed on the table. “I’ve had my eye on this project for a long time. The planning was finalized before we even secured the land. Silas, are you sure you don’t want in on this?”

He had hinted at this partnership multiple times, but Silas had always claimed to lack the

interest or the time.

Logan was actually surprised Silas had agreed to meet today.

He expected another rejection, but the man beside him paused and picked up the proposal.

He handed it to Simon.

“Read it.”

Simon nodded and carefully flipped through the pages.

“Mr. Sterling, Mr. Lawson’s plan is incredibly thorough. If we execute this blueprint, this resort will undoubtedly be the premier destination in Northside.”

Most existing resorts relied on outdated commercial models and uninspired layouts.

But this proposal incorporated modern Al elements into the design and infrastructure. It blended trendy, internet-friendly aesthetics with classic, traditional styles favored by older generations.

It was classic without being generic.

A lot of thought had clearly gone into it.

“I’ve handled all the permits. You can voice your opinions, but you won’t need to lift a finger-my team will manage the ground operations.”

Logan leaned forward, his suit jacket parting slightly. “Well? Isn’t it worth serious consideration?”

Silas tapped his long fingers against the edge of the table. “And if I say no, what’s your next move?”

Logan’s expression stiffened. “Saying no…”

“If you absolutely must pass, then I’ll have to partner with the Granger Family.”

Logan let out a weary sigh, watching Silas’s face closely. “You know how the Grangers operate-like local mobsters. This project is right in their backyard. The minute word got out, their patriarch sent me an invitation. I’m not afraid of them, but I have to play nice.”

Silas threw him a sideways glance but said nothing.

“Of course, I have my own selfish motives.”
