Chapter 157
Mrs. Gable had already clocked out. The first floor of the estate was pitch black, save for the warm yellow light spilling from the second-floor window, casting dancing shadows onto the yard.
Silas raised his dark eyes to the window for a second before stepping inside.
In the master bedroom, the woman was already showered and sprawled face-down on the bed. Her pale, flawless legs were entirely exposed. She wore a tiny camisole nightgown that left a vast expanse of her bare back on display.
Her dark, wavy hair gleamed under the soft lighting.
Every curve of her body was exquisite.
Even the dip of her waist was an absolute masterpiece.
Needless to say, she was a breathtaking sight.
Silas’s eyes darkened. He unbuttoned his shirt as he walked to the closet for fresh clothes.
Vivian watched him through the corner of her eye. Once the rustling stopped, she rolled over, propping her chin on her hands to watch him.
The man had taken off his shirt. From the back, the visual impact of his broad shoulders and narrow waist was devastating. His defined muscles radiated sheer, raw masculinity.
He ran a hand casually through his hair and headed for the bathroom.
This man…
Actually remembered to grab his clothes.
Vivian licked her lips and smiled.
Twenty minutes later, Silas emerged from the bathroom. He had barely taken two steps when he abruptly froze, instinctively bringing his arms up.
The woman crashed into his chest, throwing her arms around his neck.
The crisp, cool scent of his body wash hit her senses. She took a deep breath. “You smell amazing.”
Silas’s gaze swept over her bare feet. His brow furrowed. With effortless strength, he grabbed her and tossed her onto the bed.
“Ugh…”
This man truly possessed zero chivalry.
By the time Vivian scrambled up, he was already standing by the mirror, toweling his hair.

Chapter 157
“Silas Sterling!”
Zero reaction.
First he was blind, and now he was apparently deaf too.
Vivian sat on the bed, crossing her arms, staring him down without blinking. In the mirror she could see his eyes, but his expression was impossible to read.
Can he really not see?
A flash of calculation crossed her eyes.
After a moment, he tossed the towel aside and turned toward the door.
“Where are you going?” Her soft voice drifted from behind, laced with a convincing touch of grievance. “I waited so long for you, and you don’t even say a word to me when you get back. Do you have zero sense of how a husband should act?”
She spoke with total entitlement, as if their marriage wasn’t a contractual sham, as if they had been married for years.
Silas closed his eyes and let out a heavy breath.
“The study.”
“You’re not sleeping with me again?”
“Should I be sleeping with you?”
His patience finally snapped. He scowled, looking back at her. “If you keep playing these games, pack your bags and move to the Manor to live with my grandfather.”
“I’m your wife. Why would I live with your grandfather?”
Vivian shifted, preparing to get out of bed, but halted under his murderous glare.
She puffed her cheeks, playing the part of a deeply wronged woman throwing a tantrum.
Under the light, her stunning face was utterly flawless.
“Vivian.”
“What.”
She pouted dramatically, purposely looking away.
