The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 169

Chapter 169

There was absolutely no way Vivian was leaving. She leaned against the doorframe, openly watching him.

Silas rolled up his shirtsleeves, revealing incredibly firm forearms. The fluid lines of his muscles were textbook perfection.

He washed the greens and fried an egg.

He even retrieved a container of shrimp from the fridge, working out a few to toss into the

pan.

His movements weren’t exactly those of a seasoned chef, but they were remarkably organized. A couple of times, Vivian was terrified he was going to burn himself, but she pulled her hand back realizing it was a false alarm.

The scene looked exactly like a movie shot: the incredibly handsome, devoted husband making a simple late-night dinner for his wife.

Staring at his broad back, a sudden wave of warmth washed over Vivian’s chest.

Her fingers curled inward, but she ultimately surrendered to the urge.

She took two steps forward and opened her arms.

She wrapped them tightly around his waist.

The man’s body stiffened for two full seconds before he shoved her away.

He turned to grab a bowl.

Before he even had to reach for it, Vivian astutely grabbed a large bowl and pressed it into

his hand.

Thanks to some inexplicable sixth sense, right as she was about to go in for a second hug. Silas raised the bowl as a shield. “Are you asking for a smack?”

“No.”

Vivian blinked innocently. “I’m asking for a kiss. Just a quick one.”

“Back off.”

Silas’s gaze flicked over her red lips for a fraction of a second before he turned back to add the seasoning. “I suggest you step out right now. If you keep pushing it, you’re not getting any food.”

Dancing under the kitchen lights, his face was as breathtakingly handsome as a masterpiece. Vivian was so mesmerized by the sight that she completely forgot to wonder how a blind man knew which spices he was using.
