Chapter 178
Grace bit her lip so hard she nearly drew blood. She glared at the woman standing before her, wishing looks could literally kill.
Why?
Why was this happening!
Just minutes ago on the phone, she had been so utterly convinced Silas still harbored feelings for her, that all his recent coldness was just him throwing a tantrum. But now?
Grace squeezed her eyes shut, fighting for control.
When she opened them, her voice was laced with shards of ice. “Vivian. You had better hope your luck never runs out.”
She turned on her heel, threw herself into her car, and slammed the door with a deafening
crack.
Vivian watched the red Porsche peel away into the darkness, the playful gleam in her eyes fading into a glacial chill.
“Mrs. Sterling?”
Simon whispered, utterly terrified of both women at this point. “Shall I take you back to the
estate?”
“Of course.”
Vivian smiled sweetly. “I need to go home and thank my wonderful husband.”
As she slid back into her seat, Simon let out a massive sigh of relief.
He had to admit, Vivian was utterly dominating this turf war.
The public didn’t know she was married to the boss yet, but even without a shred of romance between them, Silas was never going to just abandon his legal wife to the wolves.
These two women were absolute monsters. It was a terrifying match-up.
When they pulled up to the sprawling estate, the entire mansion was pitched in blackness.
Vivian peered out the window. “Is your boss not home?”
“I dropped Mr. Sterling off here first before heading to the station to get you,” Simon clarified.
Which meant he was definitely inside.
Vivian nodded.
“Alright. Go home and get some sleep. Drive safe.”

Chapter 178
Simon, touched by her rare display of warmth, leaned in conspiratorially. “Miss Fairchild.. be careful in there. Mr. Sterling is… really pissed off.”
Vivian stepped out of the car, entirely unfazed. Of course he was pissed off.
“Don’t worry.”
She flashed a dazzling smile. “Your boss is a giant softie.”

A softie?
Silas Sterling?
Simon stared at her in horror, but considering how alarmingly confident she looked, he just forced a polite smile and drove away.
Vivian strolled into the mansion, flipping on lights as she made her way upstairs.
The study was pitch black.
She poked her head in.
Empty.
She wet her lips, turned around, and walked straight toward his bedroom.
The heavy blackout curtains were drawn tight, drowning the room in absolute, suffocating darkness. Only a man used to being blind could thrive in a void like this.
Unfamiliar with the layout, she fumbled blindly along the wall for a switch but came up
empty.
Giving up on the lights, she shifted to her primary target.
The bed.
Her eyes quickly adjusted to the gloom. The faint outline of a massive, broad-shouldered figure lay perfectly still on the mattress. Moving with feline grace, she crept over and perched herself on the edge of the bed.
