Chapter 188
Vivian genuinely felt like her brain had rotted. She used to be incredibly sharp, but ever since the accident and dating Jonah, even the simplest logical deductions took her forever to piece together.
At first, it was because of the severe injuries to her legs. The grueling physical therapy had drained her soul, and the looming threat of never walking again had left her spiraling into a deep depression.
Then, when she got together with Jonah, she had been genuinely grateful and deeply moved. Drowning in beautiful fantasies of their future, she had desperately wanted to leave the past, behind and start fresh.
She hadn’t realized it was all just a bubble. A dream was just a dream in the end.
Where it ended was exactly where it would begin again.
She never expected Zoe to continue investigating the accident in secret, let alone actually track down Harvey Ward.
Vivian buried her face in her hands, hiding all her emotions in the dark for a long, long time.
Zoe didn’t come back after leaving the office, nor did she send any updates. Vivian had no intention of rushing her.
She went about her workday as usual.
But with her most capable assistant out of the office, Vivian was completely swamped.
Truthfully, she didn’t know the ins and outs of Astra Media half as well as Zoe did. Zoe essentially ran the company day-to-day. Thankfully, Vivian wasn’t a total stranger to the business either and quickly found her rhythm.
Just as she finished dealing with a massive headache of a project and finally had a second to breathe, a new problem walked through the door.
This time, it wasn’t work.
It was a far more obnoxious woman.
“Amara, have you been drinking fake liquor lately? Did you completely forget what I told you?”
She had warned her: the next time she saw her, she’d beat her.
“Do you really think I wanted to come here?”
Amara’s gaze was far more guarded than before. Standing at a safe distance, she said coldly, “Dad wants you to make time to come home.”
“Which home? In Southampton?”

Chapter 188
Vivian scoffed. “Is he dying? I’ll show up for the funeral, but no way in hell am I going back just to see his face.”
“You-!”
Having been humiliated by her sister countless times, Amara knew she couldn’t win a verbal sparring match.
She honestly didn’t know what dumpster this woman had crawled out of. The way she spoke and acted was like a vulgar street thug. She had zero class!
“Dad already told me everything. You siphoned off company funds and used illegal means to force Dad to sign over his shares of Astra Media. If you don’t come back, Dad is going to have his lawyers sue you. Are you sure you want to risk that?”
As Amara spoke, a smug, triumphant smile spread across her face.
She had been desperate for dirt on Vivian.
She never expected her sister to pull a stunt like this. Wasn’t this practically handing her a weapon to destroy her?
Amara sneered at the woman lounging lazily in the office chair.
That gorgeous face of hers was just absolutely sickening to look at!
She thought she had Vivian by the throat, completely unprepared for her to burst into laughter.
“What, did you just find out about that?”
“…What do you mean?”
“I mean I took care of all that before you even went abroad. How else do you think I managed to move the company to Northside?”
