Chapter 189
“T-That’s impossible.” Amara’s face went pale, but she stubbornly stood her ground. “Dad would never do that. He just thought this would help repair our relationship. Why would he use me?”
“Use you?”
That was putting it lightly.
Knowing Dominic, the only reason he hadn’t sold his own daughter for profit yet was because he hadn’t been backed into a corner.
But Vivian had no intention of explaining the ugly truth to this precious princess.
After a long day of work, she was exhausted.
She closed her eyes.
“I’ve said everything I’m going to say. Instead of wasting your breath on me, you’d be better off figuring out how to crawl back into your precious Jonah’s good graces. Isn’t he the crown prince of the Granger family? Tossing a little investment money at your dad would be pocket change to him.”
She couldn’t have hit a worse nerve.
It had been days, and Jonah absolutely refused to see her!
He still let her use his credit cards, live in his properties, and gave her anything she asked for.
But the only thing that had changed… was that he wouldn’t touch her anymore. He never whispered ‘Amara’ affectionately into her ear anymore.
She had bribed one of Jonah’s secretaries, and the intel she got was devastating: Jonah was currently searching the globe for luxury gifts to win over a woman. But clearly, that woman wasn’t her!
Amara bit her lip, glaring venomously at Vivian across the desk.
Was it her?
She wanted to lie to herself and say it wasn’t, but…
She had to admit, Vivian’s beauty was on an entirely different level. She was the kind of stunning that had men falling at her feet and women consumed by insane jealousy the second she walked into a room.
Her stare was so intense and hateful that Vivian finally cracked her eyes open. “If you’re done talking, get the hell out. Keep staring and I’ll start charging an admission fee.”
Chapter 189
Shameless bitch.
Amara glared at her, her eyes rimmed red from sheer frustration. “I promised Dad I’d bring you home. If you don’t come back, I’m not leaving.”
“You want me to go back today.”
Vivian sighed. “That makes things a bit tricky.”
She actually sounded like a concerned older sister trying to reason with her sibling. “How about this? You get the hell out of my office, and we can discuss my homecoming the next time I’m in a good mood.”
Amara’s chest heaved violently. She was beyond furious.
Vivian, on the other hand, had seemingly found a new source of entertainment, toying with her like a stray dog.
Right at that moment, Zoe called.
Vivian glanced at Amara and stood up.
She walked over to the window.
“How did it go?”
“Miss Fairchild, your plan worked perfectly. Harvey actually came to me.”
Vivian leaned gracefully against the glass, her peripheral vision catching the woman. standing in the center of her office. Amara was probably still trying to formulate a plan to destroy her, looking pale and clenching her fists tightly.
She asked Zoe casually, “What did you do?”
