The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 197

Chapter 197

The security guards at the main entrance offered a respectful bow and immediately waved them through.

Given the hour, most of the building was empty. Simon parked directly near the VIP entrance and escorted Vivian upstairs.

The CEO’s office was on the top floor.

When Vivian walked in, the man was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, a phone pressed to his ear. His tall, impeccably tailored silhouette looked like a flawless piece of art.

He was dangerously captivating.

Vivian stood near the door for a moment, simply admiring the view.

Then, a brilliant smile broke across her face, and she sauntered over.

“The suppliers in Italy have already guaranteed delivery within two weeks…”

Just as Silas spoke, a pair of soft, pale arms wrapped around his waist. The woman smoothly glided around him, ending up right in front of him with her arms linked behind his back.

She tilted her head back.

And pressed a soft kiss to his jaw.

Silas frowned slightly. He tried to brush her off, but she held tight, so he simply let her be.

But he had forgotten who he was dealing with. This woman never knew when to stop. Taking his silence as permission, she grew even bolder.

Her lips trailed lower.

Brushing right against his Adam’s apple.

Yannick York had let Vivian walk in first while he fetched some water. He returned just in time to see the scandalous scene unfolding near the window… Oh god, abort mission.

He immediately pulled the door shut without making a sound.

Vivian caught the movement out of the corner of her eye but quickly focused back on her prize.

She gazed up at the man with a bright, adoring smile.

Silas’s eyes were as dark as midnight. He stared down at her, still speaking into the phone. “The market in Switzerland needs more research, put it on the back burner for now…” Mmh.

The woman’s hands slid from his waist, her fingers gripping the lapels of his suit jacket.

She went on her tiptoes.

And pressed her body flush against his.

She captured his lips with absolute precision.

The sensation was impossibly soft and sweet, carrying her signature, intoxicating scent. And then came the warm, daring slip of her tongue.

Hidden in the shadows, Silas’s Adam’s apple bobbed heavily.

A sudden, predatory darkness flared in his eyes.

“Mr. Sterling, we’ll finalize the details on this for now. We can go over the specifics during bur next meeting. How does that sound?”

Silas gave a low grunt of affirmation and hung up the phone.

In the very next second, his hand clamped down on her slender waist, forcefully tearing her away from him.

“Will you die if you go one day without being so damn needy?”

“I wouldn’t die, but you looked way too handsome standing there talking about business. I couldn’t control myself.”

She wore a look of pure innocence, as if her blatant seduction was entirely his fault.

Sílas yanked at his collar, his breathing noticeably heavier.

Whether it was anger or something else, a suffocating, restless heat radiated from him. He pointed sharply at the sofa a few feet away. “Get over there and sit down. If you pull another stunt, I’m throwing you out!”

Vivian pouted. “Fine.”
