Chapter 204
Liam let out a soft scoff. “So you could tell I wanted to make a move?”
“She’s mine.”
Two simple words, spoken with absolute authority.
Silas had never asserted dominance over a woman like this in front of them before. Not ever with Grace.
Sloan swirled the liquor in his glass, clearly reminiscing about Vivian’s stunning face. “Well, I can’t blame you. She’s definitely intriguing.”

Liam pulled out another cigarette and lit it. The sharp click of his lighter echoed loudly in the private room. Ignoring Sloan, he kept his dark, intense gaze fixed on Silas.
“Five years ago, I ran into a woman in the UK. She knew how to fight, and she played me like a fool. I’ve told you guys about this, right?”
“You think it’s her?”
“Her figure and aura are a perfect match.”
So, he wasn’t entirely certain.
Silas rubbed his fingertips together. “If you want a definitive answer, I’ll look into it for you. But you need to stay away from her.”
Liam looked down and took a drag of his cigarette. As the smoke plumed around his face, his smile took on a wicked, almost predatory edge. “What’s the matter? Afraid I’m going to steal your girl?”
Silas’s deep eyes clouded over, giving away nothing. He didn’t say a word.
That silence could be interpreted as quiet agreement.
Or it could mean the question was beneath his notice.
“Your undying devotion to Grace Gifford has been the talk of the town for years. You pined for her, confessed, and got rejected. Isn’t one woman enough of a headache for you? Now you’re getting tangled up with an even bigger problem.”
“She already rejected my confession, so why should I keep stressing over it?”
Silas happened to be standing right beneath a downlight. The amber glow reflected in his eyes, glinting like polished obsidian. “Besides, the more complicated the problem, the more thrilling the challenge. Isn’t that right?”
Framed like that, it certainly fit his personality.

But he had always been a deeply devoted man. Was it really that easy for him to just walk away?
Liam raised an eyebrow. After a moment, he asked, “You’ve only known Vivian for a few days Did she put some kind of spell on you?”
Silas shot him a cold look. The question was too idiotic to warrant an answer.
He opened the door and walked out.
Sloan had been listening with rapt attention, and seeing Silas actually leave made him panic. “Hey, stay and chat a bit longer!”

The man didn’t even turn his head as he strode away.
He had barely taken two steps down the corridor when a slender figure suddenly darted out from the nearby corner. Soft hands immediately latched onto him, and a sweet, whining voice complained, “What took you so long? I was dying of boredom waiting for you.”
Silas didn’t stop walking. He yanked his arm free and ignored her.
“Hey.”
Vivian jogged to catch up, wrapping her arms around his elbow again. “Did that Liam guy say something to you? Let me tell you, he practically cornered me in there. It terrified me. How about you sleep with me tonight? You know, to comfort me.”
“…”
Still nothing.
Was this guy mute or something?
Vivian pouted. Her bright, expressive eyes flicked downward. Suddenly, she shifted her grip, slipping her hand smoothly and skillfully through his fingers until their hands were tightly intertwined.
The muscles in Silas’s jaw instantly clenched, and his thin lips pressed into a hard line.
Tsk. He was a little angry.
