Chapter 205
That meant this incident had already alerted The Granger Family.
If Vivian flat-out refused to show her face, the situation could spiral entirely out of control
Her expression hardened. “Understood.”
After hanging up, she glanced up toward the second floor.
The entire villa was dead silent, feeling as if she were the only person living there. When she wasn’t around, Silas didn’t even bother turning on the lights.
A sudden, inappropriate thought crossed her mind: No wonder Grace Gifford refused his proposal. Living in this suffocating, pitch-black darkness-how could a high-maintenance socialite ever endure it?
Well, the socialite couldn’t handle it, but she could.
Besides, Silas Sterling was… a deeply fascinating man.
Vivian’s lips curled up, the sudden gloom instantly evaporating. She trotted briskly up the
stairs.
She took a quick shower in her room, confirmed he wasn’t in the study, and then grabbed her pillow and marched toward the master bedroom.
She was busy plotting how to get him to unlock the door.
To her shock, the handle turned effortlessly. It was unlocked.
Vivian swaggered inside, pulled back the covers, and smoothly slid right into bed, immediately pressing herself against his back and wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.
Her movements were so fluid and natural that Silas barely had time to process what was happening before his arms were suspended in mid-air. He looked down at her.
He ground his teeth together. “Miss Fairchild, you’re certainly getting comfortable, aren’t you?”
At least before, she had the decency to ask. Now she just invited herself in.
“Practice makes perfect.”
Vivian tilted her bare, flawless face up at him, speaking as if this were the most reasonable thing in the world. “If you won’t come sleep with me, then I’ll just have to come sleep with you. The bed in the master suite is definitely softer, but honestly, as long as I’m with you, I don’t care where we sleep.”
Silas’s eyes were pitch-black, his jaw set with a terrifying stiffness.

“Get out.”
Just two words.
Instead of obeying, Vivian slid her hands under the hem of his shirt. The sculpted feel of his abdomen was too good to resist, and she shamelessly squeezed his muscles.
She spoke in a pouty, sickeningly sweet tone that made his scalp tingle.
“Don’t be so stingy. If I sleep here, I can take care of your needs tonight.”
She was wearing a silk slip dress, and with her slight movements, the plunging neckline revealed a generous, snowy expanse of cleavage.
She wasn’t wearing a bra.
Silas squeezed his eyes shut, took a deep breath, and opened them again.
The fiery glare in his eyes looked like he wanted to devour her alive. “Is that the only thing inside your head?”
Vivian’s eyes sparkled innocently as she gazed back at him.
“What do you mean? I was talking about getting you water if you wake up thirsty in the middle of the night.”
She leaned in closer.
Smiling like a cunning fox. “Where did your mind go?”
Silas couldn’t be bothered to argue. He repeated his previous command, adding a bit more
bite: “Get the hell out!”
“No. I’m sleeping here.”
“Ugh.”
He reached out and pinched her chin, his deep, husky voice rumbling with warning. “I recall telling you that this marriage would not involve a physical relationship. Are you deaf?”
“I never said we had to sleep together like that. Can’t we just literally sleep?”
