The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 266

Chapter 266

As a seasoned playboy, flirting was basically a reflex for him. No matter how sweet the words sounded leaving his mouth, it was all an illusion. Not a single syllable could be trusted.

Vivian chuckled softly. “Is that so? Well then, to prevent you from falling hopelessly in love with me, I’m taking off.”

She turned around and spotted Simon Young.

Her pace quickened.

“Did your boss sense my arrival and send you down to get me?”

.” While that wasn’t exactly what happened, it was close enough, right?

Simon smiled and nodded, turning to greet Sloan.

“Mr. Mercer.”

Vivian signaled for him to cut the chatter. “Mr. Mercer is busy with his own affairs and doesn’t have time to chat. We’ll be going now, Mr. Mercer. Make yourself at home.”

Watching her retreating figure, Sloan ground his teeth together, his jaw working.

This woman, in a certain twisted way, was exactly like Silas Sterling-absolutely cunning. But… damn, was she thrilling!

Vivian followed Simon into the CEO’s office. The man had his back turned, standing by his desk with his hands casually braced against the edge, exuding an aura of lazy dominance.

Having delivered her, Simon immediately retreated, closing the door behind him.

Vivian’s eyes gleamed playfully. She walked right up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist.

“How did you know I was coming? Hmm?”

Silas looked down.

The hands wrapped around his waist were slender and pale, her nails painted a glossy nude shade that caught the light.

He straightened his posture, his gaze naturally lifting forward.

A second later, the woman’s luminous face popped up beside his waist.

She peeked out, tilting her head back to look up at him.

“Is this that telepathy people talk about? Say something.”

Her tone carried a sweet, coquettish lilt, and she gave his waist a couple of gentle tugs, swaying his body along with hers.

A faint ripple stirred in Silas’s chest, but he quickly suppressed it. “Say what? Tell you that you have an ulterior motive?”

“How do I have an ulterior motive?” Vivian hummed softly, releasing his waist only to circle around to his front and loop her arms around his neck. “I have to say, you have absolutely zero romance in you. I call to say I miss you, and you call me annoying. I take the initiative to come see you, and you accuse me of having a hidden agenda. What exactly is my agenda?”

Silas lowered his eyes, studying her face.

No siren was as bewitching as her, and no vixen as seductive.

Yet she could put on this innocent, mesmerizing facade and act all cute with him, flowing through the motions without a single trace of acting.

“Judging by your mood, you’ve handled the mess at your company?”

Vivian’s face bloomed into a radiant smile. “You knew? Well, doesn’t that prove you actually care

about me?”

“You’ve been trending online all day. The rumors were bound to reach me eventually.”

“Fair enough. But I know how busy you are, so the fact that you made time to keep tabs on my rumors is definitely proof that you care. You deserve a reward.” With that, she immediately leaned in, planting a loud kiss on his cheek.
