Chapter 283
“Please. I’m starving and so weak I can’t even lift my arms. Hurry up and feed me.”
Not being able to lift her arms was definitely an exaggeration.
But the way she played up her fragile helplessness, the way she made it clear she needed and depended on him, struck a perfect, irresistible chord.
Silas lowered his gaze, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
“Ah.”
The woman leaned in and opened her mouth, resting softly against his shoulder like she had no bones. Her voice was sweet enough to melt sugar. “Feed me. You’re the best.”
The man didn’t say a word. His deep breaths hinted at whatever he was suppressing. After a long moment, he raised his gloved hand, pinched her soft cheek, and finally popped the shrimp into her mouth.
After finishing her meal, Vivian happily went to the bathroom to wash her face. It was covered in oil, all thanks to that awful man.
Finally, some peace and quiet.
Silas stripped off the gloves and tossed them onto the table. He leaned back abruptly, closing his
eyes.
The muscles in his tight jaw seemed to twitch slightly.
At noon, the nurses came by to take Silas’s samples again.
Since he was in close contact with Vivian every day, he was at high risk of infection. Yet, it didn’t disrupt his routine. He attended his afternoon meetings as usual.
Vivian took a nap. Her fever didn’t spike as frequently as the day before, and she had regained a bit of her strength.
Across the room, the man on the sofa had his elbows resting on his knees, his chin propped on his hands. His deep eyes were fixed on the laptop on the coffee table, lost in thought.
Vivian gently pushed back the covers and walked over.
Before she could even get close, the man’s icy voice cut through the air.
“If you don’t want to be punished, sit back down.”
“…” Oh.
Vivian sat down, but she pressed right up against him, her leg touching his.
Staying true to her boneless persona, she rested her head against his shoulder again. “What are you looking at?”

Chapter 283
“Work.”
The moment the word left his lips, the man clicked his tongue in annoyance.
“Vivian, do you just enjoy being scolded?”
“I don’t. I’m just bored out of my mind.”
Silas reached his limit. Just as he shifted his arm, the woman’s body naturally slumped right into his lap. Her head landed… perfectly positioned over a very sensitive spot.
She let out a soft “Ah,” gazing up at him from below.
“I don’t have any energy. Stop bullying me.”
“If you’re so sick you can’t even sit up straight, you should stay in bed. Get over there!”
