The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 310

Chapter 310

Chapter 310

The woman in front of him completely changed her tune, armed with a sudden, inexplicable burst of arrogance.

Silas’s gaze darkened as he stared at her for a couple of seconds.

“You’re saying Liam called you to say he had no food?”

“Yeah.”

Vivian actually looked like the one who was offended. “How else would I have known he was sick? I literally just got out of the hospital, alright? Why would I actively look for trouble?”

Silas relaxed his posture slightly. His features were bathed in the light, the earlier gloominess finally fading from his expression.

He looked at her, emphasizing every word. “When did you and Liam meet?”

Vivian froze.

She hadn’t expected him to suddenly ask about that.

When did they meet…

She licked her lips, her eyes darting away. “I… I can’t be sure, but if he says this isn’t his first time seeing me, then it was probably five years ago in the UK.”

Silas propped his long legs up on the coffee table. He looked so devastatingly nonchalant that it was hard to stare directly at him.

“Tell me about it.”

“There’s not much to say.”

Vivian looked him in the eye and blinked innocently. “I was just hanging out with some friends and happened to see a group of guys bothering him, so I helped him out in passing.”

That was just how the world worked. The more developed the country, the higher the tolerance for all sorts of weird behavior.

Guys hitting on guys, or girls hitting on girls-none of it was a rare sight.

Once alcohol got involved, some people got incredibly, bizarrely bold.

“I never expected such a crazy coincidence, running into him again back home. Let alone him being… your good friend.”

“I couldn’t tell. You’re quite the Good Samaritan.”

“…Can you stop with the sarcastic jabs?”

Chapter 310

Silas scoffed. “Am I wrong?”

She wasn’t a good woman, but she wasn’t like a typical bad girl, either.

Perhaps every man was just another weapon in her arsenal-offensive or defensive, she needed them all.

She would treat them as stepping stones to pluck whatever fruit she desired, trampling over them to climb higher and higher.

Silas suddenly stood up, his long fingers gripping Vivian’s chin.

He pulled her close.

This was the first time he had so aggressively closed the distance between them, their breaths mingling in the tiny space. “Vivian, I don’t care what you’re trying to do. As long as you bear the title of Mrs. Sterling, you’d better stay away from those men. Otherwise…”

“Otherwise what?”

“I’ll make you suffer in ways you can’t even imagine.”

In the flickering light, his handsome face was utterly unreadable.

It wasn’t until his towering figure disappeared into the bathroom that Vivian rubbed her stiff neck. She knew Silas hadn’t just been making an empty threat,

Sterling Enterprises had a century-old foundation in Northside. They were fiercely private and low-key, yet their reputation was legendary.

A family like that couldn’t afford the consequences of becoming a laughingstock.

At the same time, however, she had confirmed her own suspicions.
