Chapter 317
“End up in your hands, just so I can beat you to a pulp again?”
Vivian had absolutely zero patience for him, her cold gaze as sharp as ice shards. “Move.”
Harrison still hadn’t quite figured this woman out. She looked fragile, yet possessed a breathtakingly beautiful face.
A gorgeous woman often made people instinctively overlook her other, more lethal qualities.
But the truth was, she was the one who had physically wrecked him that day.
Had his guard just been too low?
Or… was this woman actually dangerous?
Harrison had replayed that moment in his head several times, but it always felt so surreal it might as well have been a hallucination.
He narrowed his eyes, the darkness in his heart simmering. Reluctantly, he took a step back, but the exact second she brushed past him, he suddenly reached out and grabbed her arm.
Vivian froze and turned her head.
“Harrison, do you seriously have a death wish? Hmm?”
Her voice was melodious and captivating. Even though her tone was freezing, it carried a unique, mesmerizing rhythm.
Harrison felt an inexplicable tightening in his lower stomach. His clenched jaw twitched slightly before he released her arm two seconds later.
“My bad. Reflex.”
Vivian shot him a penetrating glare before turning on her heel and walking away.
But she had barely shaken off one nuisance before running into another. As she passed the terrace, Grace spotted her and immediately approached, her greeting polite enough: “Vivian.”
Vivian stopped but said nothing.
“Silas told me you were sick. Are you feeling better now?”
“Grace.”
Vivian lowered her eyes and let out a small, amused smirk. “I don’t recall us being close enough to check up on each other’s health. You going out of your way to make small talk like this-do you have a crush on me?”
Chapter 317
Grace had never encountered anyone so blatantly shameless. Her face instantly flushed bright red.
She pressed her lips together and said sternly, “We do know each other, after all. There’s no need for you to be so hostile.”
“If anyone started with the hostility, I believe it was you, Grace. Besides, considering where we stand… I highly doubt we’ll ever be singing kumbaya together.”
Vivian dropped the fake smile and turned to leave.
“Vivian!”
Grace’s gentle voice drifted from behind. “I still stand by what I said. The bond Silas and I share isn’t something you can comprehend. We don’t have any real bad blood, and I’d hate to see you get yourself hurt in the crossfire.”
Vivian glanced back. “Are you implying Silas is going to break my heart?”
“I…”
Grace wanted to deny it, but there was another possibility she wanted to admit even less.
“Even if he does, it’s fine.” A dazzling, almost disorienting smile bloomed on Vivian’s breathtaking face. “What gave you the impression I was a good person to begin with?”
Long after Vivian had walked away, Grace remained rooted to the spot.
Harrison walked up behind her, glancing at the expression on her face. “Did she piss you off again?”
