The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 351

She pushed out her bottom lip, putting on a perfectly pitiful act, making it look as though she had been brutally bullied.

Silas Sterling already knew that when it came to acting, Vivian Fairchild was miles ahead of Grace Gifford.

He lowered his voice. "That's enough."

"I don't care, it really hurts!"

Vivian sniffled, gearing up for a full-blown tantrum. "Why is my life so miserable? I finally get married, but my husband doesn't love me and is still tangled up with his first love. Now I've been beaten up like this, and he doesn't even care..."

Silas felt a headache coming on from her incessant noise. Unable to take it anymore, he stood up.

Walking around the desk, he grabbed Vivian's wrist with one hand.

Before he could even drag her toward the door, she wrapped her arms and legs around him, clinging for dear life.

She buried her face deep against his chest.

Silas ground his teeth in pure irritation. "What are you doing!"

"You... you look so scary when you're mad. I'm frightened."

"..." Her? Frightened? That would be the day.

Silas pinched the bridge of his nose. A moment later, he simply scooped her up—not in a romantic bridal carry, but tucking her under his arm like a piece of cumbersome luggage.

Vivian felt like she was going to be dropped at any second, forcing her to latch onto his waist for dear life.

"Silas, I'm going to fall..."

"I'm seriously going to drop!"

"..."

Back in their room, Silas tossed her onto the sofa.

Vivian quickly sat up, her eyes soft and shimmering with fake unshed tears as she looked at him timidly, only meeting his gaze once she was sure he wasn't genuinely enraged.

"..."

Silas let out a heavy breath. "What are you pretending for?"

"I'm not."

Vivian kept her voice low. "You have no idea how terrifying you looked just now. What if you actually hit me? There's no one else in this house. If something happened, no one would hear my screams, so I have to walk on eggshells around you."

Silas scoffed. "Do you even know what walking on eggshells means?"
