"My dear Mr. Sterling, do you require post-work services?"
Silas was still sitting at his desk. Hearing the sultry hook in her voice, a barely perceptible smile touched his lips. "What kind of services can you offer?"
"Whatever you want."
Vivian unlocked her car and slid into the driver's seat.
"Like picking you up from work, keeping you company for dinner, giving you a massage, or..."
She brought the phone close to her lips, whispering right into the receiver. "Sleeping with you."
Those words felt like an intimate secret, carrying a strange, electrifying current that sent tingles down the spine.
Silas's dark eyes deepened, his voice turning husky. "Vivian."
"What?" she laughed.
"The sun hasn't even set yet."
"Wow, what are you imagining?"
"Stop teasing."
"..."
Vivian ran her tongue over her lips, knowing this man was secretly repressed and easily flustered.
"Fine, fine." She sighed playfully. "I guess I'll just have to hold it in for now. But before that, I have something to tell you."
Silas set down his pen and glanced at the time. It was almost six-thirty.
He tapped his computer's power button with a long finger, grabbed his suit jacket from the back of the chair, and headed for the door. "What a coincidence. I have something to tell you, too."
"Oh? We're so in sync."
Vivian gave a casual reply, not taking it too seriously.
Whatever he had to say probably wasn't a big deal anyway. Right now, her request was more important.
"Do you have any plans tonight? Could I borrow your assistant for a bit? Just... to accompany Zoe to a business dinner. It's quite important."
"Are you paying overtime?"
"Yes."
"Then have your assistant contact him."
Back then he would say, "Vivian, my life was confined to a dark, colorless frame. Your appearance shattered it all. Every second I see you, I am incredibly happy."
But by that point, Vivian's mindset would no longer be what it was today.
Right now, she was a little annoyed.
Pouting, she muttered, "What is this? You never give me surprises, and when I give you one, you don't even play along. Men... you're so stingy."
Silas grabbed her hand and led her inside, his tone mild. "Is that your standard for being stingy?"
"What else would it be?"
Vivian scoffed. "Just look at all the other domineering CEOs."
"Then go find another one."
"..." Ugh, this guy!
Walking through the door, she slammed the flowers down on the table and demanded indignantly, "Didn't you say you had something to tell me? What is it?"
She was going to use whatever it was to make him grovel!
