The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 471

Silas slightly turned his head, his tone flat. "Let's go. He won't bother you again."

"Yes... okay."

The girl's already flushed face grew even hotter.

She clutched her chest, backing away while bowing. "Thank you... thank you, sir!"

Silas didn't reply, shifting his gaze back to Dominic Fairchild.

The lighting was dim, and Dominic had clearly had too much to drink. His expression was obscured in the shadows, but as he snapped back to his senses, he started cursing. "What are you doing? Didn't you see I was going to pick her? She's just a money-grubbing bitch!"

The stench of smoke and alcohol reeked from him. Disgusted, Silas released his grip and took a step back.

"How about I make a call, and you can go pick someone at the police station?"

"You...!"

The man stepped slightly to the side, allowing Dominic to finally see his face. His sharp, defined features held zero warmth.

"Aren't you my son-in-law?" Dominic lowered his voice. He was drunk, yes, but not blackout drunk. The Sterling family's status in Northside wasn't something he could afford to offend. Even though his daughter had married this man—

Thinking of Vivian, a heavy knot of frustration formed in his chest.

He impatiently waved his hand.

Leaning against the car door, he demanded, "Where is Vivian!"

Silas looked at him coldly. "She's sick."

"Sick?" Dominic immediately sneered. "More like she's too scared to see me, right? That wretched girl is cunning as hell. She scammed me out of my money and my shares..."

He suddenly paused and looked up.

The man was undeniably handsome; it was no wonder his daughter, even pretending to be blind, had been willing to marry him.

But Silas's expression was veiled in an impenetrable mist. Dominic couldn't read him at all.

"Look here."

Dominic changed his tune, acting overly familiar. "It's not that I absolutely insist on getting those things back. It's just that the company's cash flow is really tight right now. Anyway, Vivian already took the company, so it will just generate more wealth for you two. Besides, you're not short on money..."

The corner of Silas's mouth ticked up slightly. "Money. I certainly have plenty of that."

"Exactly!"

Seeing a glimmer of hope, Dominic rubbed his hands together and began to negotiate. "How about this... You give me three billion dollars. From now on, that company belongs solely to Vivian. It has nothing to do with Amara, and I won't hold her accountable for anything she's done in the past. What do you think?"

When Silas remained silent, Dominic deliberately darkened his face. "You two got married without giving me a single cent, and you didn't even host a wedding... With the massive Sterling family fortune, a mere three billion shouldn't be a big deal for you, right?"
