The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 487

Smack.

"Got anything else to say? If not, I'm leaving. Text me when you're done reciting your speech."

He let out a dismissive smirk. "Sorry, but my patience is incredibly limited."

With that, he stood up. His tall, imposing frame seemed to absorb all the light in the room, commanding the space effortlessly.

"Silas!"

Jonah could no longer maintain his polished aristocrat facade. His face flushed with fury.

"Leave Vivian, or I swear to you... this project of yours is completely dead!"

Silas didn't even turn around. He simply tilted his head, his sharp jawline looking as though it were sculpted by a master artist. His mocking smile was chillingly beautiful.

"Try me."

"..."

He walked out.

Jonah's chest heaved violently. It took him a long time to suppress the raging fire in his gut. With a ferocious sweep of his arm, he sent the glasses crashing off the table, then paced the room with his hands on his hips.

Hearing the shatter, a waiter hurried in, only to freeze in terror at the destruction.

"Mr. Granger..."

"Get the hell out!"

"..."

The waiter flinched and practically sprinted out the door.

It took Jonah a long time to calm down. He couldn't even remember the last time he had lost control like this.

He had clawed his way to his current position within the Granger Family without ever missing a step. But now, there was Silas... Silas Sterling!

A dark, venomous haze swirled in Jonah's eyes, threatening to consume everything in its path.

He took a deep breath, forcefully shoving his volatile emotions back down.

No matter what it took... Vivian would be his.

The Granger Family was a century-old dynasty with notoriously complex internal politics. For Jonah to rise above so many other heirs, he had to have walked a brutal path.

But securing his current position meant he had inevitably made countless enemies.

His uncle, Preston Granger, was at the very top of that list.

These weren't exactly guarded secrets; a little digging was all it took.

Simon's eyes lit up. "You mean... if we quietly toss an olive branch to Preston Granger, he'll definitely jump at the chance to take Jonah down a peg."

Internal warfare was far more entertaining than external provocation.

If Jonah was drowning in family chaos, he wouldn't have the time or energy to mess with them.

The corner of Silas's mouth ticked up, but he didn't say a word.

Understanding the assignment, Simon's tension vanished. He slapped the steering wheel. "That's why you're the Boss! Fixing a crisis without breaking a sweat. And this guy actually thinks he can steal Miss Fairchild? Keep dreaming!"

Seeing his assistant's excitement, Silas lazily raised his eyes. "Even if we didn't intervene, do you honestly think Vivian would ever look twice at him?"
