The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 501

She looked like she had no intention of leaving without an explanation.

"Ms. Sinclair."

Silas gently rubbed the back of the woman in his arms, his tone slow and soothing as if comforting her. "I know better than anyone what you're really like. Every time you come to me, it's to pick a fight, let alone when it comes to Vivian. Is your life just too perfect? Do you need to seek out drama just to feel alive?"

Scarlett was practically choking on her rage.

How could she have forgotten? These two were cut from the same cloth—neither of them was any good!

But then...

Remembering something, Scarlett suddenly relaxed. She idly toyed with a throw pillow and scoffed, "Silas, did this woman cast a spell on you? You immediately jump to her defense, but why don't you ask me why I hit her in the first place?"

Silas lifted his gaze, his expression unchanged.

"Let me tell you, she's playing you for a fool! She's cheating on you!"

The man's hand paused for a fraction of a second, but he didn't react further.

"You don't believe me?"

Scarlett was getting desperate. "I caught her red-handed having dinner alone with Zane Chase. There is nothing innocent going on between them!"

Zane Chase. The very same man she had asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend to make jealous last time.

Silas didn't press for details. Instead, he shot her a warning look.

"Get out."

"I won't!"

Silas poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue and let out a dark chuckle.

That predatory, ruthless expression was entirely familiar to Scarlett. She defensively held up the pillow, her feet subconsciously taking a step back.

Silas released the woman in his arms and looked down at her. "Are you done being mad?"

Vivian's eyes sparkled as she looked up at him.

"If you're done, go get your revenge. This is our house. You are not allowed to lose the fight, and you definitely can't lose face. I'm right here."

"..."

For a second, Scarlett looked like she had seen a ghost.

Before Vivian could even react, Scarlett's lips trembled as she lunged forward, screaming, "I'll kill you pair of assholes!"
