The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 55

"Ah, that's true."

Vivian nodded in agreement.

She just wondered when exactly Silas planned to get the marriage certificate with her. Were they even going to have a wedding?

She leaned her head against her hand idly, then decided she was overthinking it.

If Silas wasn't in a rush, why should she be?

It would be best if it was never brought up.

But someone was always bound to bring it up.

The moment she settled in, Vivian received a call from Old Mr. Sterling.

"Vivian, dear, how are you feeling? Are you settling in all right?"

Vivian surveyed the sprawling, two-thousand-square-foot luxury condo. From the decor to the furnishings, it was obvious the designer possessed impeccable taste.

A smile touched her lips. "Thank you, Grandpa Sterling. I'm settling in perfectly."

"I'm glad to hear that. I was so worried you wouldn't like it."

The old man let out a relieved sigh. "If you need anything at all, just tell me. I have nothing but free time these days, so I can handle anything you need."

"Mhm." Vivian walked over to the window, taking in the sweeping view of the city skyline. "But I'll probably be busy with company affairs for the next couple of days, so it might be a bit before I can come visit you."

"No rush at all, no rush. What's so interesting about looking at me anyway?"

Old Mr. Sterling actually sounded a little nervous.

"Just focus on your work. It won't be too late to see me once everything is settled. But if you run into any trouble, you must tell me! We're family now, there's no need to be polite."

Hearing his words, a warm feeling washed over Vivian's heart.

In all her years with the Fairchild Family, no one had ever spoken to her like that.

"Alright... take care of your health."
