The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 61

Regardless, there was no turning back now.

Vivian had to give it a try.

At seven that evening, she arrived at the designated restaurant.

A server guided Vivian and Zoe to a private dining room. As they pushed the door open, the man sitting opposite them looked up.

He wore half-rimmed black glasses and had a tanned complexion with visible acne scars on his cheeks, giving him a distinctly sleazy aura.

Seeing the two women at the door, his eyes immediately lit up.

"Well, well, you must be Miss Fairchild, right?"

He stood up and walked over with his hand extended. "I've heard rumors that the boss of Astra Media was stunning, but seeing you in person, I realize they were holding back. You're an absolute goddess."

"You flatter me, Mr. Caldwell. I'm afraid you're going to break countless girls' hearts with talk like that," Vivian replied.

She politely extended her hand, intending to pull back immediately after a brief shake.

But the man deliberately lingered, stroking her palm with a frivolous gleam in his eye. "Let them be heartbroken. Making you happy is what's truly important."

Suppressing a wave of disgust, Vivian withdrew her hand.

"I'm naturally thrilled that you've given us this opportunity to collaborate, Mr. Caldwell."

Julian laughed loudly. "Hearing you say you're thrilled is more than enough for me."

The pleasantries concluded, and they took their seats.

Julian hadn't brought an assistant. To appear like a gentleman, he had to pour the wine himself.

But in the presence of a beautiful woman, he was more than happy to do so.

"To be honest, you're even more breathtaking than I imagined."

She completely rivaled the hottest female celebrities in the industry.

Julian set down the wine bottle, his greedy gaze lingering on her profile, reluctant to look away.

"Imagined?" Vivian swirled the red wine in her glass, her lips curling into a smile. "Now I'm a bit curious. Who exactly did you hear about me from?"

Julian's gaze faltered for a second before he smiled and clinked his glass against hers.
