The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 81

Chapter 81

Vivian turned her head, her clear, beautiful eyes widening in sudden shock-it was him!

Silas had long adapted to the darkness. From the outside, he looked no different from anyone else, his dark gaze instantly locking onto the man and woman inside the room.

With one hand in his slacks pocket, he stood as tall and sharp as a blade.

He held out a hand.

“Vivian, come here.”

Vivian was surprised he knew her name, but she didn’t let any emotion slip onto her face. “Dr. Granger, did you hear that? Please let go.”

The muscles in Jonah’s jaw tightened. He didn’t speak, nor did he loosen his grip.

No wonder…

No wonder she had planned so much to come straight to Northside, and no wonder she was so fearless!

She had already hooked up with the blind man from the Sterling family!

He had originally assumed that once Amara’s heart valve transplant was complete, he could actually let Vivian take her place and join the Sterling family.

But thinking about it was one thing; witnessing this scene was another entirely.

Jonah regretted it.

There was no way he could just stand by and watch a woman who loved him so much stand

beside someone else!

“And if I don’t?”

Don’t?

Vivian took a deep breath, forcefully tearing herself from his grip, and quickly walked over to Silas’s side.

“Jonah, I’m telling you for the last time. We are broken up, and I expect you to stop harassing me.”

“Harassing?”

Jonah narrowed his eyes, his gaze flicking to the man beside her.

Even if he had the looks, what good was a blind man?

His somber gaze fixed on Vivian. “Vivian, I said I don’t agree to the breakup, so you don’t

need to keep testing me with other men. If you like Northside, we can move here.”

Vivian laughed. “What about your precious Amara?”

“Amara is in Southampton. She won’t disrupt our lives.”

“Ha.”

What a perfect little calculation.

Vivian looked up at him, the smile instantly vanishing from her face. “Not going to happen. will have nothing more to do with you. Mr. Granger, let’s just go our separate ways.”

“Let’s go.”

She linked her arm through the man beside her and walked away without looking back.,

Jonah stared at their harmonious retreating figures, a storm of fury raging in his cold eyes.

Only when they reached the door to the private room did Vivian belatedly realize she was still holding his arm.

She let go, rubbing her arm awkwardly.

“I’m sorry, sir. Thanks for your help just now.”

Silas’s brow twitched slightly, but he didn’t speak.

“How about you leave me your number and I’ll treat you to dinner sometime? I can’t today; I have some business to take care of.”

The man stood perfectly straight. The corridor lights cascaded from above, casting shadows that made his striking features look even more chiseled.

The warm yellow glow illuminated his eyes, giving them an indescribable depth.

“Business?”

He spoke, his voice incredibly magnetic.

Vivian unexpectedly recalled that kiss from before… It had been too dark that day, and if it weren’t for his highly recognizable voice, she wouldn’t have known it was him.

“Yeah.”
