Chapter 82
She had seen the ruthless side of the man in front of her, and she had heard countless legends about ‘Silas Sterling.’ Which one was true? Or were they all true?
Taking a quiet, deep breath, Vivian feigned composure.
She looked up.
“Since Mr. Sterling recognized me from the start, why did you feel the need to mess with me?”
Silas naturally took back his phone and slid it into his suit pocket. “I thought you were enjoying it.”
Enjoying it my ass.
Before Vivian could figure out how to respond, the man stepped past her and entered the private room.
Although his movements were unhurried, there was absolutely no sign that he was visually impaired.
A man like this had unfathomable depths.
…And absolute confidence.
It meant he was in complete control of everything around him.
Vivian licked her crimson lips and followed him inside.
Knowing he couldn’t see, she propped her chin on her hand and openly admired his face. He was stunningly handsome, as if God had sculpted him with the most artistic strokes.
Silas unbuttoned his suit jacket and sat back casually.
He exuded a lazy, aristocratic elegance.
“Miss Fairchild wants to marry me?”
The question was brutally direct. Any other woman would have been mortified, completely at a loss for words.
But Vivian happened to appreciate the honesty.
“I do,” she said.
“What are you trying to get out of it?”
Silas faced her direction, his gaze as dark as a bottomless abyss. “It is common knowledge that my reputation isn’t exactly stellar.”

“If I cared about reputation, I would have been destroyed a long time ago. As for what I
want…”
Vivian hummed softly, pretending to think.
The lingering drawl carried her unique charm, making it impossible not to be drawn in.
“Mr. Sterling has a vast empire, and your parents are abroad, so there won’t be any/daily family drama. Marrying you would be a lot better than staying with the Fairchilds. For wealth and glory-can Mr. Sterling accept that reason?”
“If it’s just about money, that guy from earlier could probably give you that too.”
That guy?
Vivian was amused by his tone and played along. “Well then, that guy screwed me over, and I want to find someone richer and more handsome to get back at him.”
“And our families happen to have an engagement arrangement, don’t they?”
That wasn’t entirely a lie.
Silas didn’t say anything else. His deep gaze remained still, as if in thought.
A waiter knocked and entered with the food, all local Northside specialties.
Vivian guessed that Old Mr. Sterling had ordered this meal to bring them closer; he certainly went through a lot of trouble.
Vivian thought for a moment and asked the waiter to stay and serve the plates.
Perhaps because Silas was blind, the meal wasn’t awkward at all. It was actually quite
harmonious.
When they finished and walked out.
The man adjusted his cuffs, his unfocused gaze landing on her.
“Miss Fairchild, I will not marry you.”
Silas’s tone was deep and magnetic, as if merely stating a fact. “But given the arrangement between our families, I can offer you appropriate compensation. Think about it and get in
