The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 86

Chapter 86

Human connections were a strange thing.

Sometimes, all it took was one look to determine if someone was going to be a friend or a

lover.

“That’s more like it,” Scarlett snorted. “But honestly, despite how put-together Silas looks, he’s actually a really boring guy. You have no idea how much effort I put into chasing him.”

Even if you stripped naked right in front of him, he wouldn’t spare a second glance.

As for Silas.

He was famous back in high school for only having eyes for Grace Gifford.

“Grace Gifford.”

Vivian rubbed the rim of her glass, rolling the name softly over her tongue.

Scarlett watched her face, marveling at her flawless beauty while growing increasingly intrigued by this woman.

She had just appeared out of nowhere, crashed into their social circles, and started stirring the pot.

As for what would happen next, nobody knew.

But the feeling was…

Things were not going to be peaceful.

“Are you falling in love with me?”

Scarlett stared.

Scarlett blinked, and the woman had already turned to face her, those clear eyes gazing right

at her. “You can like me, but if you’re talking about love, it won’t end well.”

“… You’re out of your mind!”

Scarlett flushed with embarrassment and angrily downed the rest of her drink.

She glared at the empty glass and turned away in a huff.

“Another round!”

Before she could get her drink, she spotted a figure not far away, and her attention was instantly diverted. “Look over there! Hottie!”

When Vivian turned to look, the man happened to glance over.

The club lights swept across his face.

Catching the gold-rimmed glasses, a flash of sharp cruelty passed over his features.

A chill instantly shot down her spine, like a bucket of ice water dumped over her head in the dead of winter.

“Hey.” Clueless as to what was happening, Scarlett waved a hand in front of her face. “No way? You’re already staring? What about Silas?”

Vivian didn’t hear a word she said, casually setting her glass down on the bar.

“I have some things to handle. I’m going to head out.”

“Huh?”

Scarlett followed her toward the entrance and finally noticed she looked pale. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

“No, I…”

Before she could finish, a dark voice floated over. “Vivian, where are you rushing off to?”

The voice came from right behind Scarlett, nearly giving her a heart attack.

“Are you a psycho? Who is this!”

Jonah shot her a glance, his gaze full of lofty disdain.

He unceremoniously shoved Scarlett aside and walked straight up to Vivian. “Since we ran into each other, why don’t you come home with me tonight.”

Vivian didn’t speak, nor did she move.

Her reaction made Jonah sneer.

“What, still mad?”

“Seriously, who the hell are you!”

Scarlett was furious. In her entire life, no one had ever brushed her off like that!
