Axel’s expression darkened further. If not for all the influential people present, he would have put her in her place already.

“The Angel Wing brooch, entirely encrusted with precious gems and diamonds. Absolutely stunning. Starting bid is eight million, with increments of one million or more. Bidding starts now.”

Soon a businessman raised his paddle. “I’ll take it. Ten million!”

Venus had no interest in jewelry and flipped through the auction catalog aimlessly.

Darcy had assumed she would like sparkly things and wanted to bid on something for her.

But watching her, he realized she couldn’t care less.

Several more items passed by, all jewelry and accessories.

Then came the antiques, famous paintings, and rare artifacts.

Darcy spent 25 million to secure a famous painting.

Not to be outdone, Axel spent 28 million on an antique vase.

Soon came the intermission.
