Venus pressed one hand against the window frame and leapt straight down from the second floor.
With a flick of her wrist, several sigils landed on the surface of the water.
In an instant, the formation ignited!
Streams of light wove together into a glowing net, trapping the water ghost inside.
The water ghost thrashed violently, slamming against the net over and over in an attempt to break free.
Venus started whispering prayers over the net.
As the light net tightened, the water ghost was squeezed even harder.
“You little brat! Even if I’m torn to pieces, I’m taking you down with me!”
The water ghost roared with fury, determined to go out in a blaze of mutual destruction.
Its body swelled, growing so large that even the net could barely contain it.
Without hesitation, Venus pierced a sigil with her wooden sword and drove it straight through the creature’s enormous body.
Slash!
The sword ran clean through the water ghost.
Celestial flames erupted from within its body, blazing fiercely.
“Ah!” the ghost screamed and struggled, but resistance was futile.
By the time Darcy and Lucas rushed over, the water ghost was already engulfed in flames, its form melting away into a puddle of slime as its soul scattered into nothingness.
Lucas pinched his nose in disgust. “Morris, get rid of this pool. Have someone fill it in first thing in the morning.”
The butler, Morris Yearwood, nodded. “Yes, Sir.”
Darcy exhaled in relief, glancing at Venus. “Ms. Oracle, are you alright? The water ghost didn’t hurt you, did it?”

Venus shook her head. “No.”
“Mr. Jynn.”
She turned to Lucas.

Lucas’s attitude had completely changed. He now looked at her with deep respect. “Ms. Oracle, is there anything else you need me to do?”
“Bring something your daughter loves most and come with me.”
“Huh? The water ghost’s gone, what else is there to do?”
“Your daughter lost one of her souls. We need to summon it back.”
Lucas froze for a moment, then hurried upstairs to fetch his daughter’s beloved plush doll. It was her companion since childhood.
Venus led him to a crossroads.
It was the dead of night, and the intersection was deserted. Not a single car passed by.
The silence was eerie enough to raise goosebumps.
Clutching the doll tightly, Lucas asked cautiously, “Do you need me to do anything?”
Venus said, “I’ll set up my candle formation. You must keep calling your daughter’s name without stopping. Only when the bell rings will it mean her soul has returned.”
Lucas nodded.
Venus tied a bronze bell to the doll, then lit candles in each of the four directions. Finally, she started chanting a spell along with Sophia’s birth details.
The ritual began.
Venus murmured softly as her hands moved, scattering some ashes into the air.
Her deep, rhythmic voice echoed through the crossroads, “Sophia Jynn, return to us…

Lucas hurried to join in. “Sophia Jynn! Sophia Jynn! Sophia Jynn…”
The ashes swirled through the wind, carrying her name.
Suddenly, a chilling wind blew past.
Faint sobs of a girl drifted through the air.

Lucas recognized the voice-it was his daughter’s. Yet, she was nowhere in sight. Panicked, he called out louder, “Sophia, my daughter! Come back! Please, come back!”
