The Tower Reversed: Back to 18 (Venus) novel Chapter 19

**Chapter 19: Let Me Make Things Right**

“This time, Venus really saved your skin. If she hadn’t intervened, you’d be in deep trouble sooner or later,” Neil remarked, his voice a mixture of concern and frustration.

Percy clenched his jaw so tightly that a dull ache radiated through his face. “I know,” he muttered through gritted teeth. “Once I’m out of here, I’ll thank her properly. She deserves that much.”

Meanwhile, Axel had just wrapped up a tedious business meeting when his phone rang, the sound cutting through the air like a knife. The news he received was devastating. Lumi had collapsed due to heart palpitations. Without a moment’s hesitation, he sprinted to the hospital, his heart racing with anxiety.

Upon arriving at the hospital, he hurried to the VIP ward where Lumi lay. The sight was heart-wrenching. She appeared pale and frail, almost ghostly against the stark white sheets of the hospital bed. Her complexion had lost its vitality, and the beeping of the monitors beside her was a constant reminder of the gravity of the situation. Wires snaked across her body, connecting her to the machines that were keeping her alive.

“Thank goodness we got you here in time,” Neil said, his voice steady but laced with worry as he adjusted her IV. “If something had truly happened to you, even ten Venuses wouldn’t be enough to make up for it!” His tone was half reprimanding, half genuinely concerned.

Though his words were stern, the worry etched on his face told a different story.

Lumi’s lips trembled as she attempted to speak, her voice barely a whisper. “Neil, I’m fine. It’s just a sudden spike in my heartbeat. Nothing serious. What I’m really worried about is Rayne and Percy. How are they doing?”

A flicker of guilt crossed her features, her eyes momentarily clouded with sorrow. “It’s my fault. After the birthday party, my friends insisted on taking me on a trip overseas. When I saw the news about Rayne, I hurried back home without a second thought.”

Neil sighed heavily, concern deepening in his voice. “Lumi, you know your heart can’t handle this kind of stress. You shouldn’t be running around like this. Just rest easy; Axel’s taking care of everything.”

Just then, Axel burst into the room, breathless and frantic.

“Lumi! Are you alright?” he exclaimed, rushing to her side.

She offered him a weak smile, trying to reassure him. “Axel, I’m fine. Neil’s just being dramatic.”

Neil frowned, crossing his arms in disbelief. “Dramatic? She nearly had a heart attack when she heard about Percy. If I hadn’t been home, who knows what might have happened?”

Axel let out a slow breath, relief washing over him as he confirmed that she was safe. But Lumi’s expression quickly shifted back to worry. “Axel, what happened to Percy?”

“Percy’s being sent to juvie for a year,” Axel said quietly, the weight of the news heavy in the air.

“What?” Both Lumi and Neil exclaimed simultaneously, their faces paling in shock.

“He’s just a kid!” Neil shouted, anger flaring in his chest. “This is all Venus’s fault! If she hadn’t made that call, we wouldn’t be in this mess. That boy won’t survive in a place like that!”
