Chapter 31 Too Ugly

Florian looked at her seriously. “I don’t want to marry that June.”

“But…”

He suddenly jumped down from the tombstone and appeared in front of her.

“If my other half were you, Ms. Oracle, I’d agree.”

His blood–red eyes had that weird, hypnotic look, like they could steal your soul.

Venus stared, wide–eyed, as he got closer and closer.

Then she just couldn’t hold it in anymore.

“Ugh!”

Venus slapped his face aside.

Florian was dumbfounded.

“Sorry, you’re too ugly.”

Florian laughed in disbelief. “Ugly? Do you know how hot I was when I was alive? I was a six- foot–one tall model with an eight–pack!”

Venus gave him a long, speechless look.

His head was cracked open–probably from a fall—and a chunk of it was gone, showing blood and brain mixed together.

One eyeball was bulging out, like it could pop any second.

His face was torn open, flesh and tissue clearly visible.

And his mouth … completely destroyed.

His limbs were twisted and broken, his entire body drenched in blood like a zombie.

“Mr. Florian … ”

Florian frowned right away. “Don’t call me that. I hate that name. Honey, just call me Florian.”

He might’ve been known as the second son of the Sharps, but he knew the truth–no one in that family ever accepted him.

Every time the housekeepers called him “Mr. Florian,” he could see the disdain in their eyes.

To them, he was just the illegitimate son–the title was more of a joke than respect.

Venus’s mouth twitched. “Mr. Sharp, you might’ve died ugly, but you can still change how you look. You can go back to your old self if you want.”

Florian looked down at himself. His chest was a bloody mess, and his left arm was bent backward at a 90–degree angle.

He moved slightly.

Bit by bit, the horrifying figure changed, turning back into the tall, handsome man he once

was.

Seeing that, Venus’s expression softened a little. “Handsome, yes … Too bad you’re also fated for a short life.”

“Also“?” Florian was curious. “Who else are you talking about?”

Venus didn’t say anything. It was the third day. She wondered how things were going with Drake.

He was such a neat freak. If he washed his hands, that might be a problem.

Meanwhile, at a manor.

Saul tried to hold back a laugh as he looked at his boss, who was eating elegantly with a disposable glove on his left hand. Keeping a straight face, he reported, “We’ve found Ms. Oracle’s new address. She’s in Stormvale. Darcy gave her a haunted house, and she’s living there

now.”

Drake set down his knife and fork, his sharp features showing a hint of surprise. “I’ve heard the Westons are known for their charity work. Why would they give a girl a haunted house?”

Saul replied honestly, “Apparently, Ms. Oracle asked for it herself.”

Drake fell silent.

He recalled that night when she went to the graveyard and ate the offerings.

Yeah, eating food meant for the dead and living in a haunted house–definitely her style.

“Saul, prepare the bath. I’m going to wash up,” Drake said, casually taking off the glove.

Saul panicked. “Mr. Drake! You can’t! Ms. Oracle told you not to wash off that blood ward. Wait
