Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 101 by Ansel Bick
Hector Goodwin had been keeping a close eye on Mathis Jagger's movements. "No, most people think that if they don't sign, it won't take effect, unless a lawyer reminds them.
From what I've gathered, he hasn't sought out a divorce attorney. The legal team at Dawnstar Capital specializes in corporate and contract law; they aren't exactly well-versed in marital law."
Bianca Baldwin's racing heart finally settled. She let out a long sigh of relief. "Alright, then I'll try asking him what he hopes to achieve by reporting me."
Instead of using her cell phone, Bianca picked up the landline in her office to call Mathis.
She felt pathetic for still having his number memorized.
It had been months, yet she still couldn't erase him from her mind completely.
Mathis had acquired the direct number to Bianca's office long ago and saved it.
Seeing her call from the landline, he let out a low, humorless chuckle. Even now, she was still trying to draw clear boundaries. He absolutely refused to let her have her way.
He answered the phone, his voice deliberately cold and distant. "Who is this?"
Bianca spoke with crisp professionalism. "Mr. Jagger, this is Bianca Baldwin. I'd like to ask what exactly you're trying to get out of me by reporting my MH1102 patent?"
Mathis didn't bother beating around the bush. "Come home, and I'll withdraw the report. If you insist on stubbornly staying out there, I don't mind ruining your reputation completely."
If she had a knife right now, Bianca would have stabbed him.
She steadied her breathing, trying to coax some information out of him.
"Mr. Jagger, the evidence you provided isn't sufficient. The only reason I'm even talking to you is that I don't want to deal with a messy lawsuit. You forged that evidence, didn't you?"
She had been waiting for nearly two months; she couldn't let all her efforts go to waste now. This time, she would not compromise with him.
If she couldn't work in the computing industry, she could find something else, even if it meant a massive pay cut.
She placed a hand over her lower abdomen and whispered to her unborn baby, "I'm sorry, sweetheart. It's Mommy's fault for not being capable enough. You're going to have to live a downgraded life with me."
For now, work had to continue. The October long weekend was only two days away. Even if Mathis made his move, it wouldn't happen until after the holidays. Over the break, she would explain everything to Cillian Calder.
Mathis rarely had moments where he couldn't sit still, but Bianca's complete disregard for his one-day ultimatum was driving him crazy. She hadn't reached out at all. Panic started to set in. If Bianca genuinely gave up, he wouldn't be able to bear dealing the final blow.
But he desperately wanted her home. The house felt empty without her, and every time he walked through the door, a heavy weight settled on his chest.
