Summary for Chapter 110: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 110 by Ansel Bick

Bianca didn't want to work in an industry she had no passion for, but she was deeply grateful to Milo for offering her a safety net.

"Thank you, Milo. I'll let you know after I resign following the October long weekend."

The next day, Cynthia and her entourage headed back to Kingsbridge City.

Mathis finally picked up Professor Adler's call.

"Professor Adler," he said politely, "I apologize, I was tied up yesterday. What can I do for you?"

Walter didn't beat around the bush. He went straight to the point: "What will it take for you to leave Bianca alone?"

Walter didn't know the true nature of Mathis and Bianca's relationship; he just assumed Mathis was maliciously targeting her for no reason.

Mathis replied smoothly, "Are you truly that confident in your student's character, Professor?"

"How often do you think I take on students?" Walter fired back without hesitation. "I personally mentored Bianca for four years. Her character is beyond question."

"Are you implying my character is the issue, then?" Mathis asked calmly.

Walter was a straightforward man, and he certainly wasn't obligated to cater to Mathis's ego. He unloaded every single grievance he had against him.

"Yes, both your character and your judgment are severely flawed. People always say a man should choose a virtuous partner. Your girlfriend is nothing but an empty vessel, yet you insist on aggressively propping her up, even going so far as to steal Bianca's credit.

What possible benefit does this bring you?"

Mathis glanced at his computer screen and said, "Professor, this is a private matter. I don't need to explain myself to you."

Walter couldn't care less about Mathis's messy love life. He pressed on. "I don't know what your motives are for attacking Bianca, but I'm going to say this once: leave that poor girl alone. You were born with a silver spoon in your mouth; you have no idea the hardships she's faced.

She lost her father at a young age, her family fell from grace, and she had to rely on her mother and grandmother just to survive.

She had terrible luck in marriage—tying herself to a man who refused to let her work—yet she still never gave up. That kind of resilience isn't something just anyone possesses."

Bianca laughed. "It's rare to hear you dish out compliments, Professor."

"Credit where credit is due," Walter chuckled. "I'm giving a guest lecture at Kingsbridge University next month. You should come set an example for the younger students. Don't ruin my reputation."

"I will."

After hanging up, Bianca immediately shared the good news with Cillian and Milo.

Cillian: *[The Professor's influence comes through again. Looks like we'll keep fighting side by side.]*

Milo: *[So your ex-husband actually has a shred of conscience left.]*

Milo firmly believed in speaking things into existence. If he kept calling Mathis her "ex-husband" every day, eventually it would become reality.

That evening, Bianca headed straight home after work. She wasn't the type to neglect herself, so she hired a personal cook that Milo had recommended.
