Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 25 by Ansel Bick
The doctor pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Your uterine lining is very thin. If you proceed with the termination, there is a significant chance you may not be able to conceive again. You need to think about this carefully."
Bianca's chest tightened, and her eyes stung.
"I... I might never have kids again?"
The doctor nodded. "Yes. That's why I strongly advise you to reconsider."
Her mind raced as she weighed her options. She didn't want Mathis's child, but the thought of never being a mother was devastating.
Mathis thought she had her period last night. Maybe she could keep this pregnancy a secret from him.
"Then why was I bleeding last night?" Bianca asked. "Is the pregnancy in danger?"
"It's just physiological spotting, nothing to worry about," the doctor assured her. "And it wasn't caused by physical trauma." The doctor assumed the bruise on her forehead had been inflicted by her husband.
"If I decide to terminate the pregnancy, what's the latest I can schedule the procedure?" Bianca asked.
The doctor's eyes flickered behind his lenses. "You have about a month to make a final decision."
Bianca took her test results and left. Just as she walked out of the hospital, Xanthe Webber called her.
"Bianca, you're trending online!"
"Me? What did I do?" Bianca was totally confused.
"I just forwarded it to you. Look at it yourself."
Bianca opened the link and saw the headline: *Heiress to AuraByte Technologies Suspected as the Mistress of Dawnstar Capital's CEO.*
Below the headline were photos of the extravagant drone show Mathis had put on for Cynthia's birthday, followed by shots of Bianca and Mathis returning to the Jagger Estate separately.
The most explosive scoop read: *On Cynthia's birthday, while Mr. Jagger's wife was burying her mother, he chose to accompany his mistress instead.*
Bianca agreed. "Exactly. He doesn't love me, so stalling the divorce is the only logical reason. Once he sees the divorce papers, he'll realize I'm not after his money."
When Bianca got home, she felt completely drained. Getting caught in the freezing rain the night before had caught up to her, and she crashed onto her bed, falling asleep instantly.
She slept straight through until evening, only waking up when Mathis called her.
Her head was pounding, and she answered the phone in a daze.
"What?"
"Is your stomach hurting today?" Mathis asked. "Do you want me to make you some warm ginger tea? I'm outside your door."
"No need," Bianca rasped. "Go keep your mistress company. I don't want your charity."
"If you don't open this door, I'll have my people take it off the hinges," Mathis said coldly. "Think carefully."
