Summary for Chapter 255: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 255 by Ansel Bick

It wasn't that Bianca was entirely unfeeling toward Milo's kindness, but she knew she could never return his love.

Her heart was already riddled with scars, and she had no idea how to go about loving someone again.

"Milo, I'll figure it out on my own. I appreciate the offer, but you really don't need to bend over backwards for me. You don't owe me anything."

It was another distant rejection. Milo sighed inwardly. Bianca truly was terrifyingly rational and composed.

Still, her attitude toward him was relatively polite—especially compared to her icy demeanor toward Mathis. That offered him a shred of comfort.

"Alright," Milo conceded. "But just remember, I'll always be in your corner. You can share your highs and lows with me. You just keep everything bottled up inside; it's not good for you."

Bianca was at a loss for words. She felt an overwhelming sense of guilt toward Milo, but she had already rejected him clearly, and he simply refused to listen.

All she could hope was that his enthusiasm would fade over time.

She turned her head and looked out the window at the rows of pagoda trees lining the street. The tiny, cream-colored blossoms were in full bloom. Scattered petals lined the sidewalks, catching the breeze and floating through the air.

Just like her, drifting aimlessly through the world.

Amidst her melancholy, Bianca remembered the outfit SDK had delivered that morning for her to wear at the Developer Conference—a silk beige blouse paired with tailored white trousers.

She had also asked them to deliver a limited-edition designer bag, which she now handed over to Milo.

"Could you pass this to your sister for me? Thank her for designing the butterfly brooch. Tell her I'll definitely break out of my cocoon."

Milo looked at the bag, a twinge of jealousy in his voice. "I was the one who commissioned that brooch for you. Don't I get a gift?"
