Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 30 by Ansel Bick
Cynthia threw a wildly provocative look in Bianca's direction, but Bianca just frowned and pretended she hadn't seen a thing.
Mathis's face was completely unreadable, and Bianca had no idea what game he was playing. Ignoring the both of them, she buried her head in her work.
The morning flew by. The supposedly married couple didn't exchange a single word, acting like total strangers.
At one point, Mathis took a phone call that caused his expression to darken drastically. But just as quickly, his usual cold, impenetrable mask slammed back into place. Deep in her coding, Bianca was completely oblivious to whatever had happened.
She just wanted to finish the integration so she wouldn't have to watch them parade their romance around every day.
When lunchtime rolled around, Cynthia eagerly followed Mathis out of the office, looking impossibly smug.
Bianca had a fleeting urge to slap both of them, but she knew confronting them in a professional setting wouldn't end well for her.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she headed to the Progenix cafeteria with Miles and the rest of the team.
The gossip-loving employees from the other departments were already buzzing about how deeply Mathis loved his girlfriend, amazed that he would actually accompany her to work.
The women were practically turning green with envy. A man as rich, powerful, and ridiculously handsome as Mathis being that attentive? Who wouldn't be jealous?
Bianca heard every word of the chatter. A sharp pang hit her chest, but she forcefully pushed the feeling down.
She refused to fight other women for a man. If a man required fighting for, he wasn't a man worth having.
Her conversations with Miles and the team stayed strictly focused on technical issues. When they drifted into small talk, she stayed quiet, keeping her eyes on her food.
Miles's assessment of her was blunt but admiring. "You have the face of a supermodel, yet you're a hardcore tech genius. It's an incredible contrast."
His grip was painfully tight. Bianca wrenched herself out of his hold, glaring at him furiously. "I already told you, I'm not going after your money! I just want a divorce. You can be with whoever you want. We go our separate ways. It's over."
Mathis's eyes blazed with a terrifying intensity. "I told you, I am not giving you a divorce," he snarled. "Don't even think about leaving me to run into Jax Holden's arms. He can't even save himself right now."
A sharp pain pierced Bianca's chest. "My brother's company overseas was targeted... that was you?!"
"Yes." Mathis stared down at her with absolute dominance. "And if you keep defying me, I have no problem destroying Stellaride Computing next. You know exactly what kind of man I am. I've always been ruthless."
His dark, bottomless eyes glinted with a cold menace that sent a genuine shiver down Bianca's spine.
Staring right back at him, Bianca forced every word out with absolute clarity. "Mathis, what exactly is it going to take for you to divorce me?"
