Milo was quite looking forward to Mathis's answer. If he married Cynthia, he'd stop setting his sights on Bianca.

Running into such a controlling rival meant there would be constant drama.

Cynthia sat in her wheelchair, staring deeply at Mathis, waiting for his answer.

Mathis said with a cold expression, "Whether I marry her or not is none of your business, Corbin. Just play your part as a fiancé and deal with your own scandals. Don't disappoint Mr. Wilder and ruin your arranged marriage."

Since Corbin and Ingrid's engagement was confirmed, Mathis had stepped up his smear campaigns against his cousin.

Corbin hadn't been idle either, preemptively reporting to Ingrid and then squashing the rumors one by one.

The two cousins fought back and forth endlessly.

Hearing Mathis's answer, Cynthia felt her chest tighten with grievances.

Since going up against Bianca, she had suffered countless injustices. She had been sent to the hospital by Bianca multiple times, while Bianca always came away unscathed.

Yet Mathis kept delaying any public declaration of marrying her. He hadn't even mentioned a wedding date when he gave her the ring.

Tears began to fall. Before Mathis could comfort her, Ingrid said with disgust, "Are you crazy? Crying at my engagement party. If you cry again, I'll have you thrown out."

As people from Harbor City, they valued auspiciousness the most. Crying on such a highly joyous day made Ingrid want to slap Cynthia silly.

But she had Mathis backing her, and Ingrid knew how many times Bianca had suffered for it.

Corbin also told Mathis, "Mathis, control your woman. Don't let her make a weeping fool of herself."

Mathis crouched down to wipe Cynthia's tears, saying gently, "Isn't the ring on your finger? The Aeterna Dynamics shares have been transferred to your dad. What are you so worried about?"

Cynthia whined, "Then I want to go pick out a wedding gown."

"Okay!" Mathis's voice was filled with infinite tenderness.

Even Bianca felt like clapping for them. What a loving couple.

Milo's heart finally settled. He smiled at Bianca, "He won't bother you anymore."

Bianca smiled and nodded. Getting rid of Mathis brought her a lot of peace.

Seeing Mathis and Cynthia acting so affectionate, Ingrid immediately feigned gagging.

Rolling her eyes to the ceiling, she playfully complained to Corbin, "Please, if I have to be sisters-in-law with someone like her, I won't be able to stomach the food at your estate."

Corbin laughed, "Don't worry. Grandpa said he wouldn't allow her and her son to step foot in the main estate. Even if Mathis marries her, you won't have to eat with her during the holidays."
