Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 60 by Ansel Bick
Mathis seemed fixated on how comfortably Cillian spoke about her, refusing to acknowledge the familiarity.
"Fire her, and we can forget this ever happened," Mathis said with deadpan calm. "Otherwise, I'll scorch the earth."
Cillian's immediate instinct was a hard rejection. "Absolutely not. Ms. Baldwin has been flawless in her role, and Stellaride relies on her patents."
"Then pay her for the patents," Mathis dismissed coldly. "I don't accept that excuse."
It was as if destroying someone's entire career meant absolutely nothing to him.
Cillian genuinely wanted to crack the man's skull open to see if his brain was just a lump of coal.
"Mr. Jagger, I expect you to keep your personal vendettas out of our business. Stellaride needs Ms. Baldwin's direct involvement for our upcoming projects."
Mathis's voice remained devoid of warmth. "Not my problem. I just want to see her termination papers."
Waiting outside, Bianca grew increasingly anxious as the minutes ticked by. Unable to wait any longer, she knocked and walked in.
"Cillian, is everything okay?"
Mathis's face instantly darkened. "What, do you think I'm going to eat your precious boss? Mr. Calder, step out. I need a word with my wife. Having an outsider here is inconvenient."
"Mr. Jagger," Cillian said firmly, "if you intend to humiliate her right now, I will not stand by. You might have the power to scrub other people's posts off the internet, but you won't be able to scrub mine."
Mathis let out a mocking scoff. "By all means, do it. I should be thanking you for making our relationship public. It'll save Dawnstar Capital a fortune in PR fees, and I can use the spare change to buy Cynthia a few new sets of jewelry."
His message was crystal clear: he didn't care about the exposure at all. Even with his legal wife standing right there, he had endless ways to elevate Cynthia and spin the narrative however he pleased.
It was the chilling confidence of a man who had won the vicious war for Dawnstar Capital's succession. To Mathis, everything was a calculated game, and pulling the strings was what he did best.
Bianca grabbed Cillian's arm. "It's fine. Just go on ahead without me."
She quickly texted Cillian: *You can head home. I'm fine. I just have to listen to his bullshit for a few minutes. Don't wait up.*
*Call me if you need me.*
*I will.*
Once he was dressed, Mathis shoved the vomit-stained clothes into a bag and held it out to her, his face devoid of emotion. "Have it dry-cleaned and bring it back."
Bianca didn't take it. "How much is it? I'll pay you for it."
Mathis coolly stated an absurd number, then opened his phone to add her. Ignoring the request, Bianca just transferred the exact amount straight to his bank account.
Mathis's face turned thunderous. "As for tonight, unless you pack your things, move back home, and unblock my number, I'm not letting this go. If you refuse, I cannot guarantee what I will do to your little company."
