Summary for Chapter 99: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 99 by Ansel Bick

Mathis was dressed impeccably in a modern, tailored dress shirt. His hair, usually slicked back, fell naturally framing his face, making him look aggressively handsome and completely out of place in the casual crowd.

Exuding an aura of immense wealth, his eyes were locked entirely on Bianca.

Milo felt the urge to gauge his eyes out. Why was Mathis's personality changing daily? Two days ago, he was a possessive maniac. Yesterday, he was a block of ice. Today, he was playing the role of the devoted, lovestruck husband.

Milo seriously wondered if Mathis had relied solely on his Oscar-worthy acting skills to con Bianca out of three years of her life.

He leaned over to Chase. "Did you invite Mathis Jagger?"

Chase, heavily involved in the tech sphere, knew exactly who the infamous venture capitalist was, especially given the recent viral drama.

"Are you kidding? I don't have that kind of leverage. Isn't he based in Kingsbridge City? What is he doing here? Should you go say hi? If we get him on stage, the PR value alone would break the internet."

Milo scowled. "I'm just praying he doesn't burn the place down. Forget about inviting him on stage. Focus on Bianca. She looks like she's about to cry."

Chase, a genuine enthusiast of traditional music, noticed the way Bianca's hands hovered over the Zither. He quickly whispered into his headset, instructing the host to ask Bianca for a solo performance.

The host seamlessly pivoted the segment, placing a microphone stand in front of Bianca's table.

In truth, traditional Zither music was rarely suited for upbeat conventions. The sound was deeply melancholic, often resembling a sorrowful weeping.

Bianca looked down at Milo. He gave her an encouraging nod, signaling her to take her time.

As she pulled her gaze back, she locked eyes with Mathis. Against all logic, he looked at her with what seemed like profound longing.

Milo finally turned to look at him, sneering. "If you have a wife, why are you parading a girlfriend around? Your brand of love is incredibly cheap."

Just before the event, Milo had watched Cynthia's newest vlog. Mathis had bought her a 150-million-dollar mansion, putting the deed entirely in Lamont's name. Cynthia had bragged to the camera: *"A man's money goes where his heart is."*

The comments were flooded with people praising their fairytale romance. Milo had left a single comment: *"The little mistress actually thinks she's the wife."*

Mathis's expression darkened. "That is my business. Regardless of my actions, she is still my legal wife. If she wants a divorce so badly, why hasn't she filed a lawsuit?"

Milo's patience snapped. He pulled out his phone, pulling up the video of him singing at the bar.

"This is the song she's playing right now. She heard it exactly once, and solely because I was the one singing it, she memorized it. You really think a woman like her is going to tolerate you playing house with your mistress and your bastard kid?"
