THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIWE
Chapter 272 Gone
Asher’s breath hitched. “Nine hundred years ago?”
Just as the question left his lips, Silas‘ entire body began to slightly fade, his form shimmering as though he were dissolving into the air. “It was the same day, nine hundred years ago, when everything ended…it is the same day tonight that it all starts over again.” His voice grew more distant as he spoke, the words thick with sorrow. “The past is repeating. The first Alpha King of the realm, Ryker Wraithe, has broken free from his curse with her turning twenty–one. She will remember everything about her past, her life…and the mistake she made…falling in love with anyone. With the Dread Lord.”
As he spoke, Silas‘ form grew weaker, his voice fading with each word. “My people and I were cursed, not only to live immortally after we lost her, but also to keep silent about what we knew,” he raised his hand, and the Moonstone he had plucked from the Moonstone Chamber materialized in his grip. “Now, that I’ve broken the silence I was forbidden to breach, our time to serve the Blood Petal has come to an end.”
He whispered, placing the Moonstone into Asher’s hand “Give this to the Dread Lord. And tell him…. she waited-”
With those final words, Silas vanished into thin air, his form completely disappearing,
Asher stood there, stunned, his fingers tightening around the Moonstone. He lifted his gaze, only to find that Seraphina was no longer standing in the clearing. Instead, her white–gold aura filled the entire Blackpine Forest, threatening to wipe out everything in its path.
“She is going to kill everyone she loves,” Asher frowned, reading her aura again mixed with a dark one, “Or… the curse around her will.”
His legs moved before he even fully processed the thought, striding toward the Blackpine Forest but then he saw something out of the corner of his eye, a figure emerging over the Blackpine Forest. Asher paused, recognizing Ronan. His eyes full of madness.
The Lycan King’s powerful form slammed into the invisible barrier surrounding the forest, his punch shattering the trap completely. With that, Ronan leaped into the clearing, standing between Seraphina and the wolves she was about to attack.
“SERAPHINA!!” Ronan’s voice roared across the clearing as he blocked her attack, his violet lycan eyes meeting her blood–red ones. The full Blood Petal mark was now visible between her brows. “What are you-”
Before he could finish, Seraphina whispered his name, “Ronan…”
The way she called him, his heart quickened and he became distracted causing her powers to kill one of the wolves close behind him. He pulled up his full powers to prevent her powers from reaching them as he asked, “I know this isn’t your doing. It’s the curse around you. I heard your mind–link about saving everyone. Don’t worry, we will-”
He paused mid sentence when he actually saw the curse around her forming behind Seraphina and there stood Ryker.
“Now that’s my little flower,” Ryker whispered, sliding his hand to her cheek. “Always choosing other people’s life over her own,” he said, grinning at Ronan. “And choosing me this time over him…”
Ronan glared at Ryker, “GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER, YOU MOTHERFUCKR!!” he roared, wanting to grab Ryker by the throat but he could not or Seraphina’s powers would kill every wolf behind him. “SHE WILL NEVER CHOOSE YOU!”
“Ronan…” she whispered again and this time he could not ignore the way she looked at him. It looked like she was seeing him for the last time. “I am sorry,” her eyes watered.
Ronan panicked, “Why are you sorry? Don’t act like this, Seraphina. I am telling you, I will go crazy-”
Chapter 27 Gone
“I am handing you everyone’s safety. Please protect them.”
Ryker grinned and started to wrap her into the darkness as Seraphina whispered, “I love you,” pulling her powers back, she pressed her lips to his as a tear fell from her eyes, “Even if I am not with you.”
Ronan watched her vanish in that darkness with Ryker.
“NO!!” He roared, charging forward to catch her but all he could do was grab at air.
Everyone in the clearing stood still in their feral form and then dropped unconscious on the spot turning back normal.
All while Ronan stood there motionless among them, his eyes wide, his whole body trembling in rage, as his lycan roared, “SERAPHINA!!!”
Some unfamiliar imagines started flickering in his mind, mixing with her last words and the kiss, making him lose control over both his wolf and lycan before his mind was completely taken over by images of Seraphina in completely different moments that he had never spent with her in this life, he focused on her smile as his vision darkened before he fell to the ground.
Two sets of foot falls thundered into the clearing as Finn and Asher ran in different directions.
“Seraphina!” Finn shouted, his eyes searching for her.
“Ronan!” Asher fell to his knees beside Ronan’s unconscious form.
Finn stopped dead in his tracks at the sight of Ronan, his eyes roaming over the people waking up one by one but there was no sign of Seraphina. She was gone.
